what about these fly by night operators? do they deposit any security with Amazon to get started on their store? :D

the problem is a lot of people think selling online is easy money, they would see oh I can source this product at 1/4 rates and make a lot of profit, they would not consider Amazon selling fees, referral fees, packaging, logistics, operation cost, packaging, fraud, loss , competition, sourcing cost , amazon policies etc.

And its pretty easy to get started you need GST. There are lot of youtubers now who are also teaching people this.

So when reality hits them they would have already invested money and now they lose their mind. Many people don't have any business plan or money or something to fallback onto.

Selling online is super hard if you are selling generic products. The competition is cut throat and lot of frauds, return loss. If you cannot make profit stop selling online.

right. my sector actually has two warehouses operated by a guy who sell online on Paytm/flipkart/Amazon. found him accidentally. he actually told me to come directly to him and he would sell me the product listed on amazon with 10-20% discount as it is just so much cheaper to sell it to me directly than through the website lol. so whenever i need a home appliance, i just go to his warehouse and compare price with amazon on the spot and bring it back with me.

yup. as a customer it works out well for me. the problem is when he tries to push a returned unit to me. usually gives me a discount on them (minor body damage and so on). but sometimes try to pass a previously opened unit as new one with fresh shrink wrap packaging. so i have to be careful with it. open the package at his warehouse and check the product properly, compare the bundled parts with what's written on the packaging and so on.
