Whether the ebooks we get from Kindle are licensed to us or are we just renting it ?. What happens if Amazon or the author decides to delist the book?. Will it be inaccessible for those who have paid for it?.

books are still drmed to the best of my knowledge. the synced books should stay on your device until you sync. so i am guessing you would retain the books saved on the device if Amazon shuts down the server. i doubt major publications would be available drm free from any store. indie books maybe.
