Amazon Prime Video restricting resolution to 1080p HD on firestick 4k in India

I can confirm that Amazon Prime is restricting resolution to 1080p HD on firestick 4k.
I have a 4k firestick and and Sony 4k android tv.
On 4k stick when watching War (hindi) it is beamed at 1080p and when using the Prime video app on sony android tv,
it is beaming at ultra hd. Same case with other ultra hd titles.

It could depend on the available bandwidth also. @icecool20 If there is congestion it could use a lower quality.

Maximum resolution on YouTube livestream is 720p for non 4k Fire TV Stick.

On my fire stick the resolution is not even 720p from last 2-3 weeks.
The issue is with all videos on prime video

Have tried resetting to factory setting, disable custom dns but no change.
Speed test on firefox (fire stick) shows 75Mbps.

Anyone facing such issues?
ISP is Jio Fiber
Using 5ghz band and ONT is just 0.5 meter away from TV

I have a Fire TV stick 4k and all videos stream at 1080p HD for me. Haven't seen it show 4K recently for any 4K titles.

Mine is Gen 2 so just Full HD.

But it's not playing anything from prime video in HD and max it goes is upto 720p i think but many times it feels like 480p or even 360p

reason why i am watching downloaded content instead of on prime video right now. started watching it, quality seemed shit. even on the web app. web app is not restricted from what i have read here?

My iPad is streaming Amazon Prime at 720p and on my TV it’s at 1080p, for now. Hope it doesn’t get jinxed. I watched 7 episodes of Supernatural today and the quality seemed fine.
