I bought Amkette Flash

ebay at a price of Rs2499, I suppose it was a better deal from market. For all those who want some more info about the player, here's a review...Let us start with the cover box, looks cool with black as basic color but displays Flash TV as "HD Multimedia Player for TV", don't know how true is that?Anyways, contents included are - Flash TV, Remote control (with battery), AV Cable, YUV Cable, User Manual (I would say, was reasonably helpful) &
AC Power Cord. Flash TV, the device itself is really very small, even the power adapter is bulkier than that. Note that there is no button on the device, you need to have the remote in working condition in order to use it otherwise you won't be able to do anything.I have tested it with both 8GB Pen drive & 2GB micro SD (with SD adapter & also with a card reader) working together, I am yet to buy an external hard disk so couldn't test with that. Although with the pen drive & memory card there wasn't any delay whatsoever. Opening of pendrive & in & out of folders was done in flash of second. The menu, background color & fonts are very pleasing & give a good feel.The first screen shows you the memory device(s) & settings tab, if you have connected both memory card & usb flash drive, it'll show both. On selecting a flash memory device, it'll take you to next screen with 5 Menu options: Movie,
Music, Photo, Text & File.Video playback was pretty decent with all standard options available like up to 4X forward/reverse, GOTO functionality, Zoom (has many options in that) and Subtitles are available in 2 fonts. Supported every avi file downloaded from internet irrespective of container which was a big relief & all other formats also as mentioned in the specification. It is said to be supporting real files also.Photos also looked well with reasonable options like slideshow (you can select time & pattern), thumbnail view, rotate & zoom (up to 16X). A strange thing happened when I was checking out photos, pics of resolution 2780x1407 & even greater in jpeg were displayed without any delay whereas my few desktop wallpapers in jpeg with a resolution of 1280x768 or 1280x800 took time to come up. I think it might be because of different flash devices, earlier set of pics were on the micro sd whereas latter were on USB.Now coming to Music, this section disappointed me most
There are almost no options available, it automatically starts playing the first song it finds either in root directory or in a folder. There's no way you can move anywhere when a song is playing, if you move it'll stop playing that song or in case you scroll other songs in the same folder it will start playing that song!! What a shame.. You cannot line up songs according to your wish, no playlist support, no equalizer. All you can do is play songs one after the other present in the same folder. I don't think i'll be able to correctly comment on the quality of music reproduced as I use Altec Lansing MX5021 which turns even not so good output into a good one. So at least to me quality was good enough, although option of equalizer would have been appreciated. I tested only with mp3, it is also said to be supporting wma.Next 2 menus are as per their respective names, In Text you can read .txt files & in the File menu you can see all the files irrespective of format along with detail or may copy/delete files.It has 3 connectivity options, AV, YUB & Coaxial Audio Output that you may use as per your TV or speaker system.Well, on the whole it’s not a bad deal as you can be free from your PC/
laptop or DVD player & watch movies in your living room with a small device.I have tried to cover almost every aspect of this tiny player, in case you have more questions please feel free to ask.
