Anyone got Reliance Big TV DTH?

We have Big TV at Flat of my friend. I have answers for you.

the STB still gets heated up despite being replaced by another one although of the same make and model as before.

we had no problem with it and we sometimes use upto 7 hours without switch off. We had no problem with ou STB.

the channel line ups which is sorts the channels like news,sports,movies no longer works.

We can able to use it. Press Down button then press left button, you will be able to see Red Box which carry all option to see.


the EPG guide doesnt show the next content in most of the channels.

It works perfect with us. Press Right button to see next program EPG.

the 16:9 mode doesnt work despite connecting via component cable,the 16:9 option is just a dummy doesnt work.

I agree with it. But none of DTH providers give this option.

the annoying big tv symbol still hasnt been addressed.
Yeah but hope it will solved once Big TV start.

the menus,channel changing can sometimes takes ages atleast once in a day.

We have no problem to change channels. Although Menu takes 2 to 3 seconds but it should be normal for those who use Tata Sky. Dish Tv user should feel it slow


certain times the there is a loss in signal,and sometimes the video quality degrades.

I guess your connection is not direct one. We had no problem even in heavy rain too. Also Video quality is excellent for us.


there is a option to choose the audio either in english(default) or hindhi .now these options are available in national geography,history channel,discovery,animal planet.but at certain times NG CH,History Ch comes in hindi despite being at default settings ,but now if u choose the option hindi it comes in english except discovery and animal planet.

We had no problem and all of our channels are comming Hindi once we set it on very first day.

POGO always comes in hindi,so cartoons are no longer funny.

Pogo is not 24 hours English channel. So we can't blame it for Big TV.

Overall Big TV is perfect for us since we used all DTH now.::yahoo:

Perfect reply from marketing guy of BIG TV, are those 40-50 thousand customer fools , those are facing heating of STB, , EPG, CHANNELS SORTING AND SIGNAL LOST these problems on daily basis, i am also having big tv at my friends house and also facing same problem, EVEN IF YOU USE YOUR STB CONTINEOUS FOR MORE THEN 2 HRS IT GETS HEAT UP AND after 4 hrs approx time it hagged many times some time we survived that it won't hang but heat like any thing

I was paid 1000 rs towards STB & Installation and 975 rs for 3 months subscription charges.


are you a broker? that you were paid 1000rs?so you are spamming this bigtv section with your posts about bigtv.all wrong dates

I am not marketing guy. I have Dish TV at home and I am happy with my Dish TV connection. I also have Tata Sky in other room and no plan to move Big TV atleast Jan 2009.

Yes i don't have BIG TV at my home, I have already said in my previous post its at my friends house. i use to visit him frequently and have seen all these problems their.

Also most of problems came in techincal and that is he reason why it delay to luanch the service.

I have no problem with Dish Tv and Tata Sky since no problem in 2 years. I have enough channels which I want.

Big Tv and Sun DTH will surly change everything in future since a new techology.

I agree on what you say, but have wrote this because your reply to the original post seems to a marketing reply.
And as far new technology is concerned MPEG 4, customer is not benefitted with that in any way, the only benefit is to broadcaster who can put more number of channels using mpeg 4 but picture and sound quality remains same in both mpeg 2 and in mpeg 4. so hardly seeing any differrence.

well good for u,but i have heating problems ,i also got the service engineer admit to the customer care that my STB gets hot.customer care response "sorry for the inconvinence".

well customer care replied "no sir it works perfectly in our 7inch LCD,so check ur tv settings". once again the the service engineer who visted admited the 16:9 doesnt work .also the customer care say u need to connect via component cable to experience 16:9 ya right:wall:,thats why i bought a 2k component cable.

well i dont like it in any other language except english ,since cartoons like looney toons,pink panther etc isnt even worth watching know the characters sound dumb and odd.
