How easy is it to try public beta?

How stable it is?

And how easy it is to go back to iOS 9 in case of any problem?

It is my primary phone so I would not want to take risk with alteast phone calls. But I would prefer to try iOS 10 as well.

I use Linux to I do not have iTunes to take backup or restore. (I have virtualbox but I do not want to do via it)

Update: Saw the above video - guy says many things dont work yet. So I better wait!

you need to follow the age old adage 'never install beta on your primary phone/computer',

unless you are a youngster filled with raging hormones and nothing to lose.

Installing the beta is very easy, you just have to download a profile and it shows up as OTA update. I haven't had any problems with the beta 2 (i.e. public beta) so far except that in Safari when typing anything on a page, say posting a comment here, if you press the backspace key you'll be taken to end of the page and you have to scroll back up. Springboard would restart automatically every once in a while in beta 1 but none of that happens now.

You'll need iTunes to go back to iOS 9, download the ipsw, restore and you're done. Make sure that you backup your phone before upgrading in case you decide to go back to iOS 9. You will not be restore iOS 9 apps/settings with an iOS 10 backup.

I've updated to iOS10 beta on my iPhone 5 (not my primary phone) and it seems to be doing just fine.
