Apple MacBook Updates

people buying movies on blu-ray would not be watching them on puny laptop displays. they would have projectors and large TVs. :)
heh yeah, mistaken that
but wtf projectors?

^^ OSX never supported Blu-Ray officially anyways. Uncle Steve calls it a bag of hurt. Licencing blu-ray would push costs up.2011 Mini and Air do support creating a bootable Windows installation USB disk. So my installation problem would be solved and I would be ready to completely dump optical drives. But this feature is not available on 2011 iMacs and anything released before with drives.

My 13" MBP statsAge :- 2 yrs 8 months oldBattery life:- Still using the original battery from Apple...Watching video 3.5-4 hours... Doing other tasks 5 hours+Exterior case :- Still seems like new even though I use it pretty roughly... Take it everyday to my construction site & my dusty old petrol pump zzz...my Personal Verdict :- Absolutely love it... Does not feel like a laptop touching 3 yrs of life... I remotely considered buying a Win Based Laptop but any thoughts of that were crushed by my younger bro :) ... Next Laptop is gonna be a MBP too, most probably a 15" MBP... Although I m pretty sure my next PC purchase will be a Mac mini which I plan to use as an HTPC running XBMC/Plex along with a kicka$$ 55" HX925 :D ...PS One of my friend bought a Dell XPS15 7 months after my Macbook purchase... He has already had to change his battery a couple of months ago & his new battery still cant match my almost 3 yr old MBP battery :P ... Anyway Apple targets a pretty niche market & are definitely not for everyone... They charge quite a bit for their products but back that up with good quality products & great customer service...PSS I was pretty ticked off that Apple had removed the optical drive from the mini until I realized I had not used the optical drive for like ever... Only thing I remember using it for it for installing windows via bootcamp :)...

I can stare my MBP for hours and still wont get bored....that sort of quality Apple gives you...and you have to pay the price for that..

MacBooks have a very good build quality... The Unibody design is amazing and even after months it doesn't look old at all. I can't say about the MacBook pros but the air is a class apart laptop. Apple has created a new market of waffer thin laptops. There was no laptop comparable to MacBook air but samung came with a few I believe.Air is good and I enjoy using mine. Excellent battery life and very portable. no heating issues.Regarding os I haven't upgraded to lion. Snow leopard is good. Different from windows which I had been using for years.. It is something new and intuitive. Exposé, spaces, dashboard and all are very attractive. Overall it has more animation and transition effects when compared to windows, which makes it look more modern. And I use aperture, iPhoto, photo booth and iWork ... Apple software is excellent...Macs are worth the money.

I can't really say anything good about macs or iOS as both are limiting OS .actually i don really consider iOS and Android as OS but they fit the definition of the OS so i can't really say much . But i really like steve jobs as a businessman . he has made people buy stuff that they normally wouldn't buy . he has made tablets popular, many companies tried but failed , he succeeded . i can safely say that about 95% of people who buy ipad don't really need it but Apple actually made ipad into a luxury item as it is essentially a bigger ipod touch and hence people once bought it as a luxury item and then when rich kids and rich people had those ipads other not-so-rich people started buying them to feel rich by just spending less than a 1000 $ . the same goes for macbooks , if you've the money you can feel good about yourself as you'll have that apple logo . In all honesty MACBOOKS are not that bad but not as great as people who buy them make them seem to be. If i wanted to be a businessman i would have studied steve jobs and apple in detail . steve jobs is a marketing genius according to me . he would have made it in many other fields but i don't think bill gates would have made it in other fields .

Apple sold leopard and snow leopard for just 20/30 dollars.

these are mostly incremental changes. but so was 7 over vista but we paid regular pricing for the upgrade.

not relevant here. but wanted to post it anyways.

ya..... microsoft should have sold windows 7 cheaper for users who had vista . the problem is most people didn't switch from xp till windows 7 was released . even now i see xp @ many places .
