I couldn't resist myself to ask this question. I have seen the internet forums & social media full of customers infuriated with Reliance internet services. Many forums are largely filled with complaints about Reliance internet.

Is Reliance internet service really that bad? Or rival ISP companies paying some people to malign Reliance. Because on face value Reliance Tariffs rate are the cheapest among all ISP's specially Wireline Internet. And there are no FUP policies.

lol. reliance is responsible for bad reviews against reliance. i am personally pretty happy with how it is working out for me. but the company does not give a shit about the quality of service or customer support. and they do not even respond to legit complaints made through the pgportal.

I speak on behave on multiple people I personally know (close circles, four of them) ... Its given the worst headaches.

My signature is a testimony to that as well.

Yep. Reliance has the best plans across their services, and their network is pretty robust too. But that's about it.

Nothing will get this company to improve their QoS if you face issues. You can disconnect, threaten MNP whatever, nothing will make them budge.

Anyway, with the way their subscriber numbers are falling each month, they seem to be going the TATA way, which is a shame really.

1. You have to run around to get a connection. Most other companies start mistreating you after you get connected. Reliance mistreats you before you are connected.
2. Getting connected to a real human being on their call center can take as long as 30 minutes. The good thing is that the number is toll-free.
3. In my case, the net connectivity was awful for around 40 days in one single stretch because their local gateway in my region had no power backup. The people responsible for maintenance were doing nothing. I filed a fresh complaint on a daily basis to push for the power backup to get restored.
4. Local guys are rude. Would not pick up your phone. If they do, they would tell you to call the call center to file a complaint that takes an additional day to get addressed if it does.
5. Reliance is intentionally blocking access to some websites without any government order. Al-Jazeera was one of the major ones I noticed. Good thing is that the block is implemented through their DNS so if you are using Google Public DNS or OpenDNS, it usually works fine. I even filed a complaint through PGPortal. Reliance gave a lame excuse (technical problem connecting to Al Jazeera website) and closed it down.
6. Manual login page is a pain in the ass. Most of the times it does not load. And it logs you out randomly. Having my phone connected to the Wi-Fi helps mostly. But if I am out for 30 minutes and come back, it's gone. I run a python script to login on the computer which works great. But on phone, if the login page does not load (which it doesn't 90% of the times), I have to turn on my computer just to connect.
7. I am paying more to Airtel for the backup connection every month because Reliance is very unpredictable. Sometimes it works great for weeks without a single issues. Sometimes, it does not connect for hours every day. So if you do need constant connectivity, having a backup connection is pretty much mandatory on Reliance.

Thats a nice summary & covers many of the reason(s) I was forced to kick out Reliance in under 5 months...

Reliance went down just as I submitted that post. Still down. DSL light is on which is surprising. Just ended a 20 minutes long call with their call center in which 18 minutes were spent listening to their mind fucking theme tune in mono quality. In 90% of the cases problem should resolve itself by morning. Otherwise the entire tomorrow is basically wasted.

unReliance is a better name. those royals don't give rats about anyone. this corporation is either owned by illuminati or is part of it. their logo is dead give away.

and just like that... it came back online just now. probably the reliance local guys reached the office and noticed something messed up with the servers and rebooted it.

reliance went down in punjab also and its more then 12 hours now. I hope India king has got his answer that why reliance is having so bad reputation. If and if they could improve their qos the situation will be different but again its "if and if" lolz
