Any idea when this will be available in India?
If it helps, it's been on sale in Taiwan for over 3 weeks now, and in Malaysia for a few days. What's the typical lag from those markets?

So the Fonepad 7 will be available from November, MRP Rs. 17499. So, now waiting for Nexus 7 2013 3G to be launched. If the price is not too much higher, will go for that, else this one is hopefully decent.

Anyone have an idea about availability? Asus Marketing told me it was to be this week and gave me a dealer's number. I called him and he said it might take till the end of the month.
Seems Asus wants to clear the original Fonepad inventory before they release the new one. :mad-tongue:

Finally, some progress.
Amazon has it already available from a 3rd party for 16,790.
Flipkart now has a listing for the 16GB version at 15,300, but is shown as 'Out of Stock', so the initial lot is being arranged for.

Finally got my hands on one from an Asus dealer.
I like it so far. Straight away, upgraded to Android 4.3. AnTuTu result is 180xx (vs Nexus 2013 204xx), which is good enough for a tablet that cost 12K less.

Anyone know a way to guestproof a tablet? So if someone wants to borrow it for 5 minutes, they should only be able to access a clean browser with no cookies,,etc.

Yeah, it's the same model. The dealer sold it for Rs. 15,900.
I like it so far, Battery at 27% after 4 days of moderate usage. Very smooth performance.
