please friends answer it urgently. i am from jaipur rajasthan, if u know anything please reply and answer these question, i will be grateful to this forum and members of it. i want use in my pc, and laptop1) is bsnl 3g data card of 7.2 mbps can run both 2g and 3g sim of bsnl rate of this card is rs 25002) will it give me good speed of about 2 mbps3) can i use other company's sim in this data card4) should i buy a wireless unlocked modem from market and use any sim i like i mean 2g and 3g of any company, do all companys' 2g and 3g sim can run internet on a wireless unlocked modem. will it give me speed of 2 mbps5)most of the modem of huawai, micromax, zte are not windows 7 compatible, can they be upgraded by merely software not spending any rupee6) how to know that bsnl 3g gives good speed in my area, is there any trial scheme of bsnl where i dont have to spend much money, and get it checked7) if i buy a unlocked modem of any company will it support the sim i put in that modem 8) can anyone give me a list of unlocked modem working or not working with bsnl 3g in jaipur rajasthanplease help me friends as these all are most basic question that a novice, investing his pocket money in this very cumbersome task, would like to be answered first.as there is know one around me or even i cant get the answers of these questions by spending money, i am asking you guys about my queries. as only expert and experienced person like the members of this forum can easily answer these question easily like anything.
 
1.> to check 3g facilities of ur area buy insert any sim (2g or 3g) in a 3g handset.. and do a manual search o n/w in dual/umts only mode... it will list down the avlbl 3g n/ws.... manualy selsct that and chek the signal strngh... better it better spd... 2.>for buying a mdem dnt buy any mdem from bsnl itself.. they r locked to them only.. u cant use it with other sims(unless u want the hassle to unlock it)3.>two options to buy : a. localy relnc 3g usb modems.... fully unlocked.... 7.2 mbps down.. 5.76 up... 2600 rs official price... b. u want to buy from onln?? ... go to ebay.in//// buy umg 1831... 21 mbps dwn.. 5.76 up.... price 2800-2900... both relnc modem(Huawei e173) and umg 1831 are fully unlockd to any sim(2g and 3g)...
 
unlocked datacard is just like any other mobile. you can put any sim. but if you bye datacard from bsnl or any other operator then they will lock it to their own sim series. so you can go for unlocked datacard without worry. i purchased huwave umg1831 data card from ebay. and this current one is teracom provided by bsnl. and i can tell you umg1831 is very good. but choice is urs. and to avail 2mb or more speed 3g service should be activated for ur number. 2g sim or 3g Sim doesn't matter much

is there any possibility that if i buy a unlocked modem and that 3g sim doesnt work with that modem.
one more thing that in our jaipur, rajasthan there is no much options available for modem i will buy it from mumbai, will it work in jaipur

see modem and speed is interconnected but again its not... coz u can buy a 7.2 Mbps modem or a 21 mbps modem thats upto u .. but personally i wud advice to buy a 21mbps UMG 1831 coz u wil be ready for future also.. but in 3g there is no atleast speed.. all depends on ur location tower strength etc.. may be ur connected to a tower with 14 mbps capable..but that doesnt assure u a speed of 14 mbps.. u may get a mere 512 kbps also if u dont hav enough signal strength so dont expect a minimum committed speed... if u get good speeds then lucky else unlucky...

and last but not the least ... if ur planing to have wireless as a substitute for wireline Broadband the never think of it.. ADSL is much more stable and secure than wireless.. so only if u need connectivity ion the go then go for 3G..

thumbs up... i hav tried so hard to make people undrstnd that 3g is not a option for p2p/torrenting... keep ur adsl/wireline bb for that...
 
in my city there are only few unlocked modems available like huawai 1550, mf 631, mf 190, micromax 310, please tell me which one should buy.i can make arrangement from purchasing from mumbai can any one tell me where in mumbai i can get maximum choice of these modems , because i am much afraid of purchasing from net as this is non conventional for me
 
by the modem reliance is providing.. it comes unlocked at 2600 rs (official pricing)... 7.2 mbps hsdpa
 
sir reliance modem, is it unlocked, i think it will not support any 3g or 2g sim, because it is i think a kind of cdma thing without sim.
one more thing if i buy tata photon plus or that reliance net connect can they give me a speed that i desire
