I was looking for a basic military grade - fall / dust / water resistant phone like the Samsung Marine B2100 for my mom, i tried to find online stores with Marine B2100 itself but looks like these phones have been discontinued & hence can't find stocks anywhere :( Please help me find a similar mobile phone in today's market. Only requirement is that the phone should be very sturdy(fall/water resistant) & have good battery backup preferably, otherwise i don't really need any other features - will only be used for calls & sms, brand does not matter either

Nokia Asha non-touchscreen Phones? May not be water proof, but surely survive falls from smaller distance. And would also have long lasting battery.

Don't expect that from Nokia now. A friend had a Nokia Asha series phone which he dropped from his office table. It display was screwed up and even it got a hairline cracked on the body.

Thank you all for the replies but i still haven't found the right phone

Looks good for my requirements but not a branded one, comes with '3 Month Seller Warranty' ! - will be at the mercy of the seller if something goes wrong even on day 1

Why not Xperia Go or even Xperia Active if u can still get your hands on it?
Touchscreen or expensive mobiles are not an option either, this mobile is for my mom & hence keypad is very much required. *I don't want to spend more than 5-6k (upto 10k maybe in the worst case situation) - considering that the phone will only be used for phone calls & max SMS

How about Nokia 100 in that case
Well seems like the best option for now, it's pretty cheap even if something was to go wrong. We can buy 5-6 of these instead of one Samsung Marin :)
*considering Marine was still available for sale
