Every time the power comes back on I am unable to connect any of my devices to the net as the router does not permit this. I have to switch the power off and repower after about 10 secs befoe the router permits laptops , mobile or Apple tv to connect again. Can any one suggest any solution to this?
I would be open to buy a new Router if required.
Thanks

Your router is not connected to a UPS type power backup?
Fact remains Beetel hardware is expected to be a sad piece of hardware. I replaced my BSNL supplied modem with a TP-Link unit. Quite happy with the improvements.

Just a regular modem. I have always used a separate wireless router because they tend to give better coverage than combo solutions.

Can I use my beetel 450 only as a modem? If yes how do I connect it to the router?
Also do you know if there are any DDRT pre flashed routers available in India/ They could help me set up a VPN with Us based virtual VPN provider to use Netflix etc in India?

I don't think there are any pre-flashed ones in the Indian market. You'll have to import one. Better and cheaper solution would be to buy a supported router and then flash it. It's quite easy.
DD-WRT has VPN config. option. You just need to enter all the info and it'll connect automatically.
