Before you buy MBLAZE........Read this

Three things I am getting to know here:
1) Use fair usage policy of MTS before buying it : It says that the speed of the connection will be highest till the usage reaches the limit of the scheme you have registered for and after it crosses the limit, it will come down to 144 kbps. So whats new in that. its very much clear and implied from the brochure itself.

2) Secondly you people are saying that take a demo before buying it. What does that demo person do to increase ur speed. Does he do any settings? I have already purchased the connection without going for a demo. Now what shall I do?

3)Third thing I got to read here is to use the USB extender cable : Tell me one thing. We buy wireless connections mainly because so that we can use it when we are on move. So how come we use that extender cable all the time when we are on move? But nevertheless can you throw some lighton how to use to use that extender cable?

I am getting a speed of arnd 0.49 Mbps download speed and 0.17 upload speed. It is disappointing that it never reaches 1 Mbps also when it promises 3.1 Mbps

#4. As of November 2010 in CBD Belapur, my down speeds range from 120 kB to 260 kB between 11 AM and 8 PM approx. Outside that, the speeds range from 200 kB to 310 kB. (Latency is not good; average 400 ms.) Fantastic for the price... monthly 1000 rupees for 15 GB @ 220 kBps average!

How can u be so satisfied with this speed. U are using a broadband connection and it should be atleast 1 Mbps if not more than that.

So there is nothing new in the policy.2) Secondly ppl are telling here to have a demo before buying the product. Does the demo person do any settings so that it increases the speed. I think speed is a network thing. If a network is there in a particular home, his neighbour should also get the similar speed. 3) Third thing is the extendor cable : Can someone throw some more light on how to use the extendor cable.I am getting the download speed of 0 to 700 kbps. But people here seems satisfied with less than this speed also. When you are promised speed of 3.1 Mbps, dont you think that you deserve to get atleast 1 Mbps?Sourav

Yes you are right its a network thing, but it also depends on the number of users in your area circle. I reside 5Km east of New Delhi so the network is fine. Its been 25 days since I bought MTS(999 unltd, 3.1Mbps till 12GB and 144Kbps afterwards), and since I've been using the data economically by keeping in mind 400MB/day, I have 700MB left for 5 days. I will surely see how much the speeds drop once I cross 12GB limit.

I agree with you on the point that people should be deserving atleast 1Mbps but trust me, the kind of infrastructure telecom companies have in India, I don't think getting constant 1Mbps or above would be possible anywhere. Be it any provider, Photon+, reliance netconnect or anything, as far as I've reviewed none of them provides any surprising speeds. Its only different in case of 3G which is way too costly, that you can get speeds upto 6-7Mbps(for e.g Airtel 3G 7Mbps).

My MTS has only reached 1Mbps 4-5 times mostly during night time. It averages 500Kbps in day time. That means using IDM, average download speed upto 100KBps, lowest 60KBps and it maximizes mostly in night upto 150KBps. For the record, the maximum speed I once got on MTS was 210KBps when I was downloading some movie from mediafire.com.
 
@ vivs.......its not SURPRISING speed, its something u deserve.Let me give you some inputs. One of my friends who use MTS in durgapur and howrah gets speed of more than 1 Mbps and it doesnt take him more than an hour to download a 700 Mb movie. Secondly , today I was told by a customer executive of MTS that the range of MTS speed, till the usage reaches 12 GB, should be 700Kbps - 3.1 Mbps and that although there is MTS network in my area but there is something wrong in the same and it would take around 1 month to correct that. So till then they will somehow try to increase the speed I am getting currently. You seem to have accepted what is provided to you. If they dont have the infrastructure, they should come out clean.Sourav
 
Well, I was just going through all these posts. Now, I am going to tell u guys a totally new story. I'm using MTS from 23.10.2011. At the outset, I was getting a download speed around 150-200 kBps (sometimes 225 kBps)........after 12 GB, it came down to 25-30 kBps & then after 24 GB, around 10 kBps. In the meanwhile,it didn't take me any long to consume the 30 GB download limit. I finished the limit on 13.11.2011. So,on the next day, I recharged the device with INR 999/- again. From then, I am having a download speed of maximum 10 kBps. So,in the first few days, I lodged a complaint,but,it didn't work. Once I was travelling in Metro,so their call got disconnected automatically & the next day I was told that as I hung up the phone(even I didn't),the complaint has been closed. I lodged another complaint. This time they gave me one missed call which didn't last for 3 seconds in my cell. (Have any of u guys ever experienced missed call from customer care? I think it's the biggest joke.) Anyway, this complaint was also got closed by them. After lodging 4 consecutive complaints in a 7 days period,they arranged for a technical visit. First day,one person came & was looking too much pale while trying to solve. Naturally, he couldn't. Next day,another person came & told me that the orientation of the signal is not proper for my area,so they have to reorient it. In the meanwhile, I got the same problem at three different places (Jadavpur, Bhowanipur, Hindmotor) after recharging on 14.11.2011,but,in all of these places,there was absolutely no problem when I first bought the device. Anyway,till date,they haven't solved it. I also called the nodal officer, he's also totally useless as his sub-ordinates.In the next 2 or 3 days, I'm going to kick the device out of the roof.

it is a simple cable with a usb port on one end that connects to ur laptop and a usb host port (like the one on ur laptop) at the other end to connect ur device to.

you cud probably buy 1 for under 100 bucks.

does someone know how i can use mts on usb and some other isp on internet port to better speeds? when i try, only the one which i connected first is used, it seems. i used to get mts speeds is if i connect mts first, and mtnl speeds if i connected that first.
 
damn MTS guys telling me to go buy a new device if i want to go prepaid from postpaid - someone tell them that the idea is to SAVE money if i am doing this, not waste money... pissed
