NOD32 is the best - it has topped almost every recent AV comparative, but you'll definitely notice it (or any other realtime AV) is running when you copy/move/extract a lot of executables. I prefer to leave realtime disabled & scan manually whenever necesasary.

another great option is the free Open Source Antivirus for Windows- CLAMWIN
So far ClamWin does not have on-access scanner so you need to be careful and scan a suspicious file before opening it. If you do that you will be as safe as with a commercial antivirus.
If the "Integration with Windows Explorer" option is checked during installation, any file can be scanned from within Windows Explorer simply by right-clicking on it and selecting "Scan With ClamWin Free Antivirus"

I am using System Mechanic Antivirus. It has got more future.. AV,Firewall,drive scrubber, disk defrag,memory defragment, repair registry problems and removes the duplicate and junk files.

Hi,I want a portable antivirus for my USB drive. Currently I have installed portableapps suite and it includes ClamWin antivirus. The problem is ClamWin doesn't have a real time scan option.Any other good antivirus to use with portableapps?
