In my opinion, a really effective way of controlling internet content from the root is using something like OpenDNS. You will need a static IP from your ISP. If you get a dynamic IP, use DNS-O-Matic.

There are plenty of free/paid software that may also help you in your goal. BUT, you would also need to make sure your kids logon to the PC (assuming Windows here) with an unprivileged account. Any smart kid can uninstall/disable/End Task the program.

With an external filter (like OpenDNS) they would have their hands tied. You can even block domains like anonymouse.org and the like, so your kid can't outsmart you.

But giving your kids freedom, privacy, and educating them about the good and evil on the Internet. Trust them to make the right choice. Better than any software... and its FREE!

I suggest, monitoring wat pr0n sites he visits and stuff for a week or so...

Add all those porn sites domain name in ur /etc/hosts or %Systemroot%/system32/drivers/etc/hosts like.

Open DNS is a good idea...but as we all know, we can't stop the kids...btw, one of the best measure to take is install the computer at some public area of the home...like the living room or something like that...where the child cannot be alone...

I hit my babies with my belt whenever my kid sees pr0n & does not bookmark it .. :evil:I think if your kids are like 14-15 I think they shud be allowed some porn and you shud tell them abt safe sex, and sex before marriages makes you blind etcetra type stuff.
