10/hr is more like dial up..yes dial up doesnt have a speed of 256 kbps but still per hour billing is still absurd according to me

Hour based billing is better than volume based billing. If bsnl will introduce it, I am going to take the minimum hourly pack to taste the broadband. Otherwise I'm happy with my unlimited dialup.

Its a stupid idea to pay on a hourly basis, because a person who is browsing a page will read through it slowly, would like it to be always on to notify him of an e-mail message, I think, it will do no good to the ordinary internet user. It will only help tel companies to make a huge profit.

The idea of time based billing doesnt seem good to me. The whole concept of broadband which is an always ON connection is gone. But still i do agree to do the fact that its some what better than volume based billing. I m sure most of us around here will take this pack only for the heavy downloading and shall use some other cheap umlimited pack for common browsing...good enough if both the packs comes under a price of Rs 800/-

then in that case they should have the option of having multiple accounts...that way, i'll have one hour based and one data based...hour based for heavy downloading and data based for normal surfing :D

Yes some smarties will have dual accounts - one hour based and one always one. Use the hour based for d/l heavy stuff with settings to disconnect after d/l is complete. Sleep while the PC d/ling is on and then sit back as it will shut down on its own.Use the freaky "always on" ( the Limited D/L ) when u dont want to go for power usage.

In India, there is preference for two or more!!!I wonder why? why? why?Why can't you guys stick to one and be sincere to that alone? :D
