Im seeing here tat ppl blast at officials in BSNL for not letting them know the situation cud get this bad. For those who cry foul that they don’t get speeds all the time, are you nt aware of wat WL internet is capable of? I am sure u are the ones use it throughout the day for torrents and stuff (just like I do). We knew wat coud happen but when it happened, we cry foul and blame it on bsnl. I bought 3G just bcoz there was no BB wired conxn in my area and 3g was the only option.i took an UL plan and I feel contented of wat I got form it. I m glad that bsnl withdrew the UL pans forever. Why don’t u guys compare Airtel, Vodafone etc who are involved in daylight robbery. My point here is, if u get standard speeds around 1mbps, feel satisfied with it . u don’t get UL 1.5mbps on a wired BB for this cost. If the reality is this, the only way to go about it is to be contented with wat we have. :readtherules:

Can not do anything other than crying hoarse. By the time all the U/L suscribers who got in before Jan 29 finish their plans, Upgradation will be over and new plans will start just 5 to 10% below private players. So far Airtel,Reliance 3G are not budging in price. Aircel 3G announced Rs 1275 u/L plan for data card. but no word yet.
Vodaphone & idea yet to offer firm plans in south.
Latest Joke :
All post paid BSNL subscribers who got in to 3 months /Rs 2500 u/l plan or 6 months Rs 4200 u/l plan are getting bills for Rs 15000 /Rs 45000 etc.
It seems -After Feb 18 ,they have been changed to Rs 1399/15Gb plan and billed for excess usage.

Where do people come up with this stuff?

Spectrum is far from a limited resource - spectrum is light, although at the frequencies we are talking about we call it by the name "radio". While there are certain definitions as to which parts of the spectrum are suitable for various types of wireless technologies, it's not the factor which causes operators to put limits on wireless plans - it's more a quality of service issue.

With "unlimited" access - or even 100GB per month per subscriber - it's very difficult to provide a good quality of service over wireless, no matter how little or how much spectrum you own.

You can test this yourself with any consumer WiFi router - connect 3 or 4 clients to it and send files to each other and see how the throughput reduces exponentially, even if you have the latest N standard devices. Now imagine that multiplied by 100 (albeit on much better hardware).

Visible light, radio waves are part of EMR I don't think spectrum is associated with only with visible light and not with other EMR ones. I have mentioned UL1350 its BSNL wired ADSL connection (speed dl up to 4Mbps until 20 GB onwards its 512 Kbps) It would be better if 20 GB limit is increased to 100 GB+ and also if they offer data exemption from 2-8 am like in 500 rupees plan. I must have read from top tech site I am sure of it. I couldn't recall it coz its long ago maybe dailytech.com.I am not talking about spectrum u can't use since most govt narrow it and they sell it at a high price. I like to mention Vodafone UK 3G provides only 2GB data plan as far as I know, BT also in same range at max may be 5GB. BSNL is far better with 15GB, Docomo adds to it. I enjoy good speed in 3g expect 6-10 pm.I agree the high ping time causes page opening little slower but it doesn't affect streaming nor downloads. I hope network quality will improve over time. BSNL ADSL connection is best I ever used I have attached a image to support it. people say of worst customer service once for me the link was down I called customer care of Chennai telephones waiting time was like 10 mins and I complained in night, next day they called me at 10 am and asked me whether I am getting link or not I looked at the modem the link was up.
