BSNL 3G is now offering unlimited data for Rs. 1099 (Rs. 156 for 2GB/Rs. 549 for 10GB)

My 1st full month finished few days ago. I would like to give my impressions. My location is Rajpura, Punjab.
There were no disconnections nor was my speed ever throttled after certain usage. Speed usually remained in mid 400s to early 500s except during peak hours it went to 200s. The max I downloaded in a day was 32gb. Overall monthly usage was around 600gb. Overall I have been lucky regarding bsnl 3g however I'll take a break and resume my unlimited 3g plan later as I already have enough data. I would actually recommend this plan but seriously reading other posts I think location factor matters too.
Edit I used a spare htc one x+ with TP-Link 3g/4g router flashed with rooter firmware as a setup.
TIP-make sure you have selected always 3g/wcdma mode on specially when downloading.

I usually get 400kbps and upwards but for the last few days I am not getting more then 200kbps

Using BSNL 1099 from last 3 days. In the first day, I got speeds ranging from 450KB to 700KB easily. I downloaded around 5 GB on the first day.

One the second day, I keep getting speed ranging from 150KB to 220KB.

Today is the third day and I am still getting download speeds from 150KB to 220KB.

BSNL 1099 is NOT RECOMMENDED. They definitely limit the speeds and it is not 'without any speed limits' as advertised. I also faced the following issues:

1) The Internet automatically disconnects after you have consumed around 1-1.5GB of data in one go. You have to manually reconnect.

2) Sometimes the 3G fails to connect and you have to keep trying atleast 5-6 times to get it connected.

I am very disappointed in this plan. I have a broadband which gives me 2MBps, I thought I will get atleast 4mbps continuous with the 1099 plan but I barely get 2mbps.
yeah in my case I also think that my download speeds are being throttled. Every thing still works fine as before streaming is also good.but download speeds dont go above 150kbps. I have used 120gb so far in 10 days of my activating my plan so I think they might be throttling. My downloads were 500kbps to 1mbps

lol. At least they are doing something to solve the problem. So if this is true then I think Bsnl is going to provide this plan for a long time.

I am ancient old BSNL user and BSNL has a tendency to discontinue plans after sometime no matter how popular it were. They had launched full unlimited 2G plans back in 2008 for 178 but later it was discontinued. MTNL also launched full unlimited 3G plans in 2012 for Rs. 750 later it was priced at 1650 but got discontinued :D
Right now BSNL is the only company which doesn't have full talk time vouchers(under 500) they offer it as special offers during festival times.

I dont understand why but bsnl 3G goes down whenever it rains. Its like an dth connection which goes kaput as soon as it rains. I don't exactly know why or whether its related to spectrum they own
