Is it possible that dongles might have been capped..Anyone tried using 3G phones for downloading and stuff ??

Yes i have used it with Moto G4 plus and other phones too same speed.
300 kpbs downloading speed max it doesnt go more than that they are capping the speed :angry::angry:.

bsnl now show that the maximun speed on these 1099rs and 498rs plan will be 3.2mbps. This speed will not reduce further no matter how much you use. My 3 months of happiness has gone now. Before it use to take 10mins to download 1gb and now with 250kbps it takes 1 hour for 1 gb.

My speeds are around 3-3.5Mbps Nagpur..But it used to be the same couple of months back..So nothing changed..
I would be happy if I get these speeds in Bangalore :/

There's no speed capping in Punjab. I get 8 Mbps speeds with 3 bars of signal.

I've tested it myself. I can upload a router's screen shot as a proof if you don't believe me.

So I got the dongle and it's working with BSNL 3g. I tried it with 3420 but it identifies and shows signal strength at 45℅ but doesn't connect. I m on beta firmware which works well with evdo dongle zte ac8700. Should I change firmware? What exact APN settings should I use? Please help.

update to one of the newer firmwares .. and select profile BSNL (2) .. or manually input the apn 'bsnlnet'

mine's too 3420 shows signal strength between 35-51% but i get 6-7 mbps on avg easily

It's working now. But I am getting only around 2mbps at 41 to 45℅ signal strength.

many have reported that bsnl has capped max speed to 2mbps in many areas .. nothing you can do about that

Ok.
But I just checked my dongle and it's getting too hot and I only used it for 2.5 hours. Is that a issue with your dongle too? Should I return it or is there a solution for it?
