BSNL added new peering locations

NIB added multiple peering points from TATA & NIXI. Did any one noticed any latency improvements? I haven't noticed anything so far. Would love to know from your end.

I guess only DE-CIX Delhi is the new addition right ?
BSNL still needs to fix the routing for it go through the Exchange. I observe traffic goes over Tata even it's peered sometimes

The locations of NIXI were there initially
The TATA thing was there but added to their profile.
But nice to see they have increased capacity

@shashankb how well bsnl ftth is performing for you during video calls. Also do you think adding 100G port is worthit in DE-CIX DELHI even though microsoft.com takes mumbai route.

I can comment about Whatsapp and Google video calls which include Meet and Duo.
Whatsapp video calls go through Decix delhi again as it's a part of Facebook and I am routed to MAA(Chennai) for Google services

Both work great for me. Meet gives me overall latency of 20-30 ms which is I think good for BSNL considering the pings of 50-60 ms I got before for the improvements on BSNL side few months ago.

It will be to our advantage when Hosting providers connect to the Data center in the future

DNS also plays a role in nearest path. In the case of Airtel, I assume it's wireless 4G . Then pings do take a hit due to the network conditions

I am from jk and for me cloudflare is of 40 ms as it is using tata route for sometime it used airtel and provided a latency of 20ms. Tried raising a complaint on pgportal but to no avail untill now can i email someone who can do that

For me latency to gateway since 4 days become double. Earlier i was getting 2 to 3 ms latency to gateway but now it is above 9ms.

@JSMFPPJK Just experiment with DNS. Google or OpenDNS might do better for you routing wise. PG Portal will not be of much help
