In 3G network, the EDGE speed is capped at 128 kbps...!
For docomo, its a different case. They don't have separate 2G or 3G sims. All their simcards r 3G enabled USIM's. And the connection speed depends on the plan which u subscribe to. If u r using Rs 48 plan with 2GB usage per month, u'll b getting 128 kbps speed maximum. If u r using 19rs plan, u'll get 50 MB usage for 1 day with 3G speeds.

I am a 3G user and they were making some changes in the software,dont know for what! But after the so called change,I am getting only 60KBps speed..Have asked to fix it...But I dont understand how the speed of 2G ppl will reduce.The speed available for EDGE is 236kbps which will give around 30KBps speed..So is it a big deal?

wat u r telling might be the case with 3G.... nd currently BSNL 3G upgradation works r going on. So the users might experience speed issues with 3G.
Regarding the EDGE speeds... u r right i.e, the EDGE speeds should be 236kbps and it used to be dat speed itself...before the launch of 3G.
After... the launch of 3G, the EGDE speeds have been capped at 128kbps (download speed of 6-9KBps only in EDGE coverage areas)
But still.... in certain areas... where the BSNL towers haven't been upgraded to 3G, ppl are getting EDGE speeds of 236kbps in those areas....!!
