Please post screen shot for further suggestions. presume no external application/program needed. like Tautology/shaplus/netmeter etc which do the same job , independent of access to BSNL usage site.

I will try to incorporate bsnllog.png as a link using the ImageShack choice. Since I haven't done this before I'm not sure I'll get it right.

I hope this helps???

I am using D-Link ADSL 2+ Router configured by the BSNL technician for bridge mode.

I understand this to mean that whenever I want to get onto the internet I must log on and then, for economy, when I'm done I should log off. So unlike your setting, I'm not "always on".

As I posted, I can record the usage for each such session provided the link doesn't break! This is not so rare since spikes/fluctuations disrupt the connection and the screen grab can't be done since the "bsnl status" disappears with the information!

That's why I wanted to know if there was a way to automatically log or record the information of each session.

That information I can then enter into a spreadsheet as an independent source to check on the BSNL's usage data.

Sorry. As I am not a software programmer, i cannot help you out further.
Why don't to compare the other meters listed in my post No 59.here and compare usage data say for a week.?. I found them quite reliable and they don't depend on BSNL usage site.

Thanks man ! great script. God be with you...can you develop a script that can check usage for some specific day range...say from 15th to 21st of the month  any way great job already.

@ aesouza.
I liked your idea of recording each session information.
Presently i'm using DU meter and it almosts does the same job. But it records data transfer in hourly intervals, but not in sessions.
And it gives us the total connection time in each hour, so we can easily calculate the continuous connection time.( if we dont disconnect&reconnect mor than two times with in an hour.
I think you will find DU meter useful.

Download DUMeter
