BSNL Broadband: certain pages do not open

hi all, i have a bsnl broadband connection...i had problems initially but for the past two months i dint have any problems except my speed...my immediate problem now is that whenever i open certain sites by browser crashes saying it has encountered a problem and needs to close...sites like orkut,a few blog sites doesnt open...however iam able to go to facebook,yahoomail etc...i dont really know what the problem is..i tried with internet explorer and firefox...no go...and iam not opening any secured sites...just orkut and a few others...so plz help me out guys....
 
Clean your browser cache and private data. Run a scan using CA Yahoo Antispy.
 
am sorry mate but i dont know doing that...cud u give me steps...also i ran a yahoo scan..no items found was the result...am using firefox 3.5

Firefox > Tools > Clear Private Data ( Select all options ) > Clear private data now
 
i dont have an option like that,but i hav an option to clear my history and delete individual cookies in my privacy tab which is under tools->options->privacy...u want me to do that
 
Under privacy tab, there should be an option to clear private data or similar. Use the option you mentioned. I am using FF 3.0 not sure what changes they made in the latest version.

(6)Mention OS being used , and whether updated.
 
even i am facing the same problem. Will try the settings in the page above.

It worked..!!The instructions given above work. i am now able to access all pages possible.

i only set the DNS address to the OpenDNS adresses. And everything is smooth now..!!!

@essbebe, modem dna a211-1 wifi modem/router....os xp sp2...i downloaded tcp optimiser but i dont know what to do with that...and i was able to change the dns in my tcp ip but i dont know how to do in the modem page...plz help me with this...and regarding mtu,i find it only in the tcp optimiser,its a option box but its greyed out...i set a open dns in tci ip and in the router page...still my browser crashes as soon as i enter orkut saying we have a inconvenience and need to close...
