Hi Mohit,You can purchase the peripherals from any shop u like (u like saboo computers), the rates differ by 5% at most.A NIC costs about Rs. 250-300 at most. Don't go for highly-priced ones. The ones from Compex/Krypon would do.You would require to buy 2 LAN patch cords. One of standard 1m length and the other depending upon where ur other PC is located. Please don't surrender ur current net connection unless DataOne is operational. And plz inform me when u buy ur equipments & get ur userid/password from BSNL.I'll be glad if u SMS me.Cheers,AR.

Oh my ! This guy agnivo007 is in command of the Broadband section I suppose !!! Amazing...

ya there cannot be two thoughts or any doubts that he is our broadband guru "agnivo007 "...hey agnivo...i purchased the modem that D-Link 502 T ADSL 2+ guess for how much Rs 1900...cool... (and yes brand new with warranty man)...I also applied for the dataone connection yesterday itself.....and guess what today i got a call from the office that they can come to connect tommrow if i have my modem and NIC installed on my PC...( I am amazed sometimes at the service of goverment sectors....so far SBI and DATAone are the only two services in my experience in PSUs which are a bit customer friendly compared to rest...)I said yes and they r coming tommorow (hope so) i.e. saturday...a. U know what they asked me that do i have a parallel phone connection and i said yes...to which they replied that i have to remove the parallel connection...i will but was wondering why??????????b. Initially i have applied for basic home plan 500 let me see the speed and service and then will decide whether to finally leave my arrogant cablewallah and switch to business 1200 plan of dataone fully (it appears 4 GB will be enough for me)...but i was wondering do BSNL people change the plan easily or again there is a cumbersome written procedure???? any experiences anyone????regards,sunandoP.s. 1. wondering why my rediffmail account is not opening from yesterday so many important emails to be read and replied???????? anyone else having problems with rediff????????2. why this forum is getting me logged out whever i try to reply or change topic etc...its frustrating to login again and again...

As always, agnivo back to the rescue !First of all, the MRP of router is really good! I guess that u have bought the switch too !Secondly, BSNL people really care for u if u are polite with them and maintain contact with them. In case of a problem, u will gain for this attitude. And why remove the parallel connection ? I'm using the following layout. Show the BSNL people the layout below if they do not want to keep parallel connection.View attachment 141Its good to experiment before finalising. Go ahead and try with Plan 500!As for rediffmail, i can't help. For the logging problem in this forum, I think cookie settings in ur browser is wrong or corrupted. The rediffmail problem might also be due to this! I think browser settings are corrupted...  Plz read my reply regarding ur previous queries about cat5e patch/cross cord, dhcp etc.
