@mac
out of thread. I am an OLD Airtel user for past two years. Will ask for change of ID.
My login ID is not my phone Number same case for all old cutomers.
Just now tried at random an Airtel IP. got an user with telephone number and his password. 01141576xxx PW 89987xxx cannot say old or new user.
He has 3.06 firmware version. Beetel 220BX "Always On" connection Gateway IP seen.
SUGGESTION: Change your Modem's access password if on PPP/PPPoE "Always On " !!!! as @mac has mentioned in "Bridged" dialer mode safer.

thanks guys for helping me :thumbsup:i think now i know where i was wrong.. i was using PPPoE in my modem, so as some 1 rightly said, my modem will have a public ip, where as my router is in private network.here is how solved my problem.i confg modem on bridge mode and set my PPPoE in router. thats it my problem was solved. was able to access my router through net..yesterday whole night i spent thinking of what to do... nice to see most of you guys had same views as i did..now i would lie to add 1 more thing... is it so hard to access PC from net.. what i did was, after i was able to access my router,i port forwarded router with port # 34012 (which is port # to remote access pc,got from portforward.com). i confg my pc's frewall too with same port #. but no use guys!!! cant access 117.199.x.x:34012..have any1 here tried to access pc from net ?? i dont want to use 3rd party s/w...

@doomrocks
SUMMARY:
forget all these, how can i access routers home page , for remote administration.

presume you have solved this problem now. (*modem "bridged" router PPPoE)
2. Now new problem.
have any1 here tried to access pc from net ?? i dont want to use 3rd party s/w

User wants to connect to his own PC from another PC (on seperate internet connection). Likely via Access Remote PC.

How will the user connect when he doesn't know his own Dataone IP? Dataone gives dynamic IP, it changes with each connection. Has user subscribed to RPC Service?

Just typing 117.199.x.x:whatever is insufficient. What are these "x" and how does user plan on finding out his own dataone IP? And without using RPC?

And if user actually knows the IP why would user want to use.......

@doomrocks
good that you figured out part of your problem.
But I on the other hand still cant access my modem or even router firmware with my internet IP...( i found my internet IP from www.whatismyip.com) My modem running bridge mode and router is running PPPOE, My router has remote enabled, i can access my router firmware as my internal IP is the next hop. However i cant access my modem firmware this way, in order to access it i need to remove router from in between and connect directly to modem. Now to top all this I cant access my router remote in orignal setup (modem bridge and router PPPOE) using my internet IP... where as if i only have modem running as PPPOE i can use my internet IP to pull up my firmware...same as essbebe pointed out.... Its too bad he is in chennai and i in delhi or we wud have tested it together. (chennai people cant pull up modem firmwares of delhi customers and vice versa).:(

my router has DDNS and I have reg. on dynDNS. so i presume problem of dynamic ip has been solved.
so to access my router i can use the URL myrouter.dynDNS.org (exp.).but to access my PC i have to confg either ports (34012) or DMZ on my router...isn't it!!!

and for 117.199.x.x,it is my dynamic ISP provided ip address.

NOW FORGET ABOUT PC.......i know guys, i m confusng u too much..
maybe accesng a pc from net wont be so easy as i thought .....

consider this... if i m having a ip camera and presume it has a static private ip of 192.168.2.5 on my local network and has port 34587.
what should i do:
1. confg port 34587 on my router though single port forwardng
or
2. confg DMZ on router wth my ip camera's ip

presuming that i know my publc ip or have configured ddns on my router. so i can access my router by either 117.199.x.x (my publc ip) or usng ddns url of myrouter.dyndns.

and also for accessing my camera what should i do:
is it 117.199.x.x:34587 , my publc ip:port number for ip camera??

good that you figured out part of your problem.
But I on the other hand still cant access my modem or even router firmware with my internet IP...( i found my internet IP from www.whatismyip.com) My modem running bridge mode and router is running PPPOE, My router has remote enabled, i can access my router firmware as my internal IP is the next hop. see pal as far as i understood ur problem i am making my views.

" But I on the other hand still cant access my modem or even router firmware with my internet IP...( i found my internet IP from www.whatismyip.com) My modem running bridge mode and router is running PPPOE, My router has remote enabled,"
if u are having modem in bridge mode and router is running PPPoE , you can only access routers home page though ur public ip remotely. the reason being ur router's WAN port is provided public ip (provided by ur ISP).i hope u got my point!!
now comng to pont why u cant access router's home page...i dont know which router u r havng..but check whether there as opton for disabling "Block Anonymous Internet Requests ". once u have disabled this option try to access now. if still now able to access disable firewall.. but recommend that should be always turned ON.
if still cant access router, ask me ok... then i think u have to configure ur modem too.
But as far as my knowledge goes, with modem in bridge and router setup with PPPoE , u cannot access modems home page remotely!!! if some1 here has any idea how to do so pls update me.

"can access my router firmware as my internal IP is the next hop. However i cant access my modem firmware this way, in order to access it i need to remove router from in between and connect directly to modem."

i m not much clear abut this part... cause i too cant access my modem's home page internally in my network (with modem in bridge mode and router with PPPoE). may be this might be the reason.... since v have confg PPPoE on router, there is no static ip for routers WAN port. and also default ip for modem is in the range of 192.168.1.x. and that of router may be 117.199.x.x in range. maybe that is the reason. correct me if i m wrong... i will try this out today.

i have been reading few articles on running 2 routers together while still sharing a stable internet connection... I have ordered a beetel110bx1 as it has multiple ethernet ports which are essential to such a setup. As you suggested the SPI firewall is disabled on router and Block Anonymous Internet Requests options is non-existant on my Netgear WNR834b V2 router. no go on router through remote... still waiting for 110BX1 to be delivered.... honestly this discussions is clearing things....but its getting harder to keep a track of where we started from...lol. Keep sharing new things as you find out.:cool2:

@mac Beetel 110BX1 has DDNS option.
Following for my reference !
What is Dynamic DNS (DDNS)?

DDNS substitutes a network identification number for one that's easier for humans to use.

Most ISPs frequently change your computer's IP address, using a technique called DHCP. For Internet users to access your computer, they must know your IP address — for example, when you run your own Web server, or use your router to make a VPN connection. Since the IP address changes, your Internet users will need to keep up with the changes. (As an analogy of this problem, imagine that your telephone number frequently changed without warning. Your friends would always be phoning the wrong number.)

DDNS solves this problem. The DDNS solution comes from companies such as DynDNS.org and TZO.com.

The company creates an account for you that registers an unchanging name, such as myname.dyndns.org. You program your Netgear router to recognize that name, and it automatically substitutes the current IP address — no matter what your ISP has changed it to. The configuration is done in the Advanced-Dynamic DNS menu, where you enter your DDNS account login information. Now remote users (and remote routers) can find yours by its Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), myname.dyndns.org.

For remote user access, you must also configure your router for port forwarding — for services you make available on your computer. For port forwarding information, see your router's manual or How is Port Forwarding Configured

hey pal ur last post has confused me!!! i presume ur home network consists of a modem DSL and a router. correct me if i am wrong!!!
now whch is ur modem,beetel110bx1??

and 1 more thing.. when u confg ur modem on PPPoE.. r u able to access modem's home page remotely?? have u tired it confg that?

And "essbebe", confg DDNS on modem wont solve his problem.. he want to access netgear router...
MAC there is 1 more process to check where problem is... confg ur router's WAN port ip to a statc ip (some 192.168.1.5 or some thng). now unplug ur WAN cord connecting ur modem and router. and connect ur pc's cord to routers wan port. got it... now try to access ur router through static ip for router's WAN port... got me.
if u r able to access ... then there some confg to be done in modem.. hope u got my point!!

i am able to access the router's firmware when the setup is

Modem >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Router >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Computer.
192.168.1.1 >>>192.168.1.2(external),10.0.0.1(internal)>>> 10.0.0.2

but this way i am not able to access my modem firmware as gateway is the router(10.0.0.1)
My plan is to get new modem(110BX1) with multiple ethernet ports, then setup will be this.....

Modem(192.168.1.1)>>(192.168.1.2)Router(10.0.0.1)>>Wireles(10.0.0.x)
Modem >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Computer(192.168.1.3).
Hopefully i shud be able to access both router and modem firmware this way.......:yahoo:
Right now using modem 220bx from beetel.

I'm able to access modem firmware if modem is running PPPOE and there is no router in the setup. like this
Modem >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Computer
