BSNL Unlimited
Most of you out there are using BSNL Broadband. If you know any information on the tariff of the unlimited Scheme, please post it her. I would like to know the price of the data card, since I am planning to buy it. When I called up the BSNL office, they were not able to provide me with a clear idea of all these..Please help me...:(

BSNL EVDO costs around Rs. 2,500. If you are looking for wired connection, choose UL 750. It gives your 512 Kbps unlimited for Rs. 750. There is no FUP too. Recent upgrade has made the plan very attractive. I switched to this plan is getting 65 - 70 KBps on good servers. On torrents, I get around 55 KBps.

You can check all plans and tariff here

Hope this helped. If in doubt, please feel free to ask.

Thank you very much for this info. But I have one more clarification. I have heard that the datacard costs around 1500. DId BSNL increase the cost of the card recently? Or is this rate for some other scheme?

No. Actually they decreased it. You can get it for monthly rent if your feel the amount is high. No quite sure about the price. But it was around Rs. 2,500 when I last checked.

I was for long looking for these details. Was in doubt if the websites were updated. How is the sevice provided by them? I am planning to take a new connection by the end of this week..

Always welcome.Speed of EVDO mainly depend on these factors1. Distance from tower.2. No. of users per tower. Two of my friends are using EVDO. They report the speed as something around 200 KBps. The advertised speed is 3.1 Mbps which you hardly get. Still is a tempting offer as no other plans are better than this. Make sure that you get a demo before purchasing it. Check the speed and make the decision.

Agree with @meetdilip. I did a trial of EVDO and it failed at my place. The speed was slower than a dial-up modem.

yesterday i went to bsnl CSC. at trivanrum. they said now at this time the EVDO device is not available. and the cost will be 3500+ . if for rental 500activation, 1000rs for security. 200 monthly rental. and advanced payment. so a total of 2400rs for rental basic. at present th 3.1mbps devices are not available. i think we need to wait some more weeks. but after that they may change the 750UL to 999UL.

Ya. I too heard that they will increase the rent from last April. Not sure whether they have implemented it.
