Hi.
I have been using BSNL broadband 750 UL plan since last week and i keep on getting reconnected every now and than.

Below is data from my router. is SNR the problem here ?

Code:
Downstream Data Rate	5930 Kbps Upstream Data Rate	497 Kbps Downstream Attainable Data Rate	5937 Kbps Upstream Attainable Data Rate	1066 Kbps SNR (Downstream)	8.95 dB SNR (Upstream)	19.5 dB Line Attentuation(Downstream)	41.0 dB Line Attentuation(Upstream)	20.5 dB

Get your line checked by the line man. Ask him to change the cable with joints and lay a new one.

Thanks for the reply. Will call them tomorrow.
btw, whats the number to report this complaint ?

Call your local exchange and report the problem. No need to contact the higher ups. Just line man can fix it.

wow .... wth 6mbits ? downstream that's nice yea something wrong with your line get it checked that should solve it

@meetdilip, Called them just now, lineman will come at my home within 2 days, lets see. Hope everything gets better :(@auroraPWN, I dunno what that "Downstream Data Rate" means, but its kewl. lol.

*BUMP*Alright guys, after lots of calls. Finally the line man came at my home and did something. No wires were changed within my home. He did something outside, i dunno what. After that, only one day the internet worked without reconnection's. Now its again the same. wtf. What can possibly be wrong ?Is it by any chance my modem ? :O

I'm seeing the same problem here in Bangalore. Modem keeps losing the DSL and internetlight and comes back up again. My modem is UT300R2U. What's yours ? I don't think itis a modem issue because I'm using the modem without any problems since last 3 years.

Check your SNR and attenuation values. Is there any difference ? If not, insist on replacing cable. Check the cable. Check if there are so many joint or no insulation area and all. You can also try a complaint to Nodal officer or Appellate authority. ID and phone no on the backside of your bill.

Hi dilip. There was change in SNR values and it were normal for some hours, but its all the same again. The way it was before.
Will try to contact bigger authorities now.
