I got the same problem as jughead4. at night frequent disconnect and lower speed. Here are my info from my ADSL modem Operation Mode G.dmt.bisMax. Bandwidth Down/Up(kbps) 1052 / 940Bandwidth Down/Up(kbps) 652 / 861SNR Margin Down/Up(dB) 6.3 / 5.5Attenuation Down/Up(dB) 48.0 / 36.7at night the SNR comes down to 2-3 resulting a frequent disconnect. from 9am, it goes up and stays between 6-6.5 and I can use the connection well with no disconnect. Any solution for me? How much I'll have to pay to change DSLAM port to the DE/JTO at my exchange??Will this work?

You complain to JTO BB. A lineman will come to check your line condition. Will say telephone is Ok!
Make a complaint telphone line is very noisy.
Check all joints /rustrng/blackening etc.
Chapani for line man should work
Else complain to D.E.

essbebeThanks for replyinghere is what I am getting now: Operation Mode G.dmt.bisMax. Bandwidth Down/Up(kbps) 1148 / 952Bandwidth Down/Up(kbps) 752 / 872SNR Margin Down/Up(dB) 5.9-6.1 / 7.5Attenuation Down/Up(dB) 55.0 / 36.6The disconnect problem has almost gone, even at SNR above 4.0 has not disconnected the modem today. When the disconnection frequently happening the day before yesterday, I found that some half dead red ants inside the ADSL splitter and I cleaned them all- so the result is no disconnection since then. but the lower speed problem still persisting. I use this 512 Kbps plan but I am getting 10-20 KB of speed. is this for the viruses or the admin in the adsl bandwidth server has deliberately reduced my speed?

Amazing stuff ! After I erased the oxidization, carbon from the tip of the cable that came from the pole to my home, the speed stood up to 60-65 KB. Omy god ! its amazing ! I have been calling the Tel lineman for over 3 days now, he has been making sorry excuses like he was bz with stuffs and would come today, tomorrow, now, then etc etc. I thank all of this forum who contributed on resolving the issues of ADSL. I am happy now :D Rainy season brings more problem to me as the water enter into the underground cable and the phone make noise. no respite from this though.
