BSNL Broadband: my web pages loads up way to slow

Hey everyone,
this is Ankit here... i got my BSNL connection after 8 months *sigh* and now i am facing a weird problems.
pls if any one could help me out or guide me it would be good.. really need it working...

H900 plan from BSNL, UT300R2U router

even though its a 256kbs plan my web pages loads up way to slow... really slow like this forum took about 20 minutes
that slow... and my upload and download speed from a onlin test is good...



I cant download and browse at same time if i am downloading the speed is good but most of the websites fail to load.
I am using firefox 2,kaspersky 8.o antivirus, windows media center edition ..

for a 256Kbps speed test report seems alright.
back up, or note down the settings for future use.

1.OpenDNS | Providing A Safer And Faster Internet
Try opendns 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222 to be entered in TCP/IP page of computer.
2. Download FireFox browser.
Firefox web browser | Faster, more secure, & customizable
3.Give details about you C:/directory available space free space.

i did go to that dsn site and changed the settings for my Router i dint find the UTSTARCOM so did the general settings...
and changed my dsn no at http://192.168.1.1

upon click next it was say i am not using der dsn so i changed it for
my local area connection... the dsn number...but still its saying i am not
using DNS number... dont know what i am doing wrong...sorry for the trouble...

the free space on my C is 49GB....
 
delete temp internet files/cache,it may helphow long you hav been facing prob., downloading means what... torrents??then modify tcp/ip properties
 
@photon.No problem. Try this.Start/Network/Lan/Properties/Select TCP/IP /Properties.Select assign IP automatically. Also DNS settings.IF you feel, you can enter the OpenDns details.Your Download speed shown is about 8 Mbps. in the modem.You may not get that much D/L.Para two :After connecting the modem, and connected to internetin your computer start/run type cmd type ipconfigreport details if, still problem. or post screen shot link for Diagnostics page.open 192.168.1.1/main.html

Start/Control Panel/system/Hardware/Device Manager
Network adapters.
Check drivers. See the device is enabled.
If you dont have a Lan card, little difficult to connect to USB port. Again drivers are needed. Confirm you can surf smoothly now.

bsnl was having some problems opening some sites since yesterday, and opening any site today, for me, it appears to be fine now...
 
actually if ur using torrents its way too easy to max out ur connection!! so better put upload and download limits if u wanna browse and download!! also try googling for utorrent tweaks or azereus tweaks!!
