The connection has stopped working for the past few days. When I login to the modem page using 192.168.1.1, and click on diagnostics, the ping to gateway shows as FAIL. And the gateway is set to 192.168.1.1. when I manually try to ping to this IP, it is pinging. Not much of knowledge in this domain :ashamed:I clicked on default settings, without backing up the current setting, and now I cant access the modem page. Pls help

do you remember the userid and password? if so , you could try RESETTING your modem , then you could configure from scratch.. which is not difficult.. please mention your modem model no

Mention modem model/make. Are you connected to internet now ?What is the need for accessing the modem settings ?Are you using dialer mode?Do you get connected to internet ,when system/modem is switched on ?/Start Net work LAN propertiesTCP/IP propertiesSelect Obtain Ip address automatically.SAVE Apply. Now Start run type cmd type ipconfig /allfind the default gateway of modem. feedback.

Do you use a dialler to connect to internet. Please mention if you do.

you would need to create a dialer now , and insert your username and password there.. you can create a dialer under control panel->network connections
