BSNL DataOne: Connection getting disconnected frequently!

Hi,

I have BSNL Home500 for about 25 days.

I am having 2 problems right now.

Problem 1:

I cannot check my account usage. I have seen the posts by other members in this forum. I also filled up the online form on the BSNL's portal which gave me a unique Portal user ID and password. But after logging in through that, I can only edit my prfile, userID and password. No link for account usage ! When I contacted the BSNL CC - they did'nt know anything. Their only suggestion for me was that - apply for a new ID by filling up new form. (Though I told them that I am able to use the net with same userID & password without any problem) Then I contacted the BSNL exchange of my area. They told me that they have yet to update the portal for the new connections & it will start in few weeks. (& I will have the same userID & password that I use to connect to the net. No special Portal User ID or anything)

Problem 2:

For the last 10-12 days, my connection gets disconnected after every 5-10 mins (or max 1hr). And the funny thing is that, during 2.00-8.00, it gets disconnected after every 30-40 mins (or max 1hr) and during the daytime, it gets disconnected after every 5-10 mins (or max 30 mins). I am not able to figure out the reason behind it. I am using P4 2.4GHz, 512Mb, 80Gb HD (out of which 70-72Gb if in use). My router is D-Link GLB-502T. I connect it via USB. I have the main connection of the phone-line in the drawing hall & a parallel connection in the bedroom where the PC is installed. But I don't think there is any problem in the way I have connected the router because BSNL's engineer came and installed everything (and he was not the typical BSNL guy - he was good, was working in Cisco before) I use Firefox for browsing. I have Nortan 2005 (updated every day & full system-scan every month). I do'nt know what is the reason behind it. So I posted all these details. I do'nt have any problems with the speed. (I usually get speeds of 150-175 Kb/s, with up to 240-250 Kb/s for good torrents) But as it gets disconnected frequently, I cannot start the downloads at night and sleep...I have to check it after every half hour! (since does'nt get connected after the automatic redial when it is disconnected - so...)
