The topic appears to have went off.I was happy with Reliance Wimax service.In-spite of Wireless technology i still experienced frequent slow speed issues and occasional connectivity issues.Their customer support was very helpful and mostly prompt. And they are among the very few ISPs in India to offer decent Upload speed. But their Wimax tariff is very much expensive. But i was a happy user of BSNL also in my previous location, and now in my current location too.The service would go down couple of times in a month for the whole day.I am now getting awesome speeds of 4+MBps in BSNL.I downloaded two SD movies within a hour. Airtel is going to offer Broadband service in our apartment.Initially i was very much interested in their offering. But, now i am thinking again.

If you are planning to stick with ULD 1350, you can talk to the exchange and ask them to lift the speed cap. A lot of users were facing the same problem. The reason is that the 4 Mbps is a recent introduction. But the ports are capped for maximum speed of 2 Mbps. You can talk to the SDE of your exchange and seek assistance. You will find local ISPs too in Bangalore. They offer some 1 Mbps unlimited I think. Do check with someone at your place. Also, don't go by the feedback on forums. It is not like that you use Airtel in Chennai and had good experience. But if try the same in Kolkata, it may not be good. The performance in each circle will be different. Choose wisely.PS : There is a 20 GB limit for ULD 1350. Once you cross the limit, speed will dip to 512 Kbps.

RELIANCE

3) Cheaper plans compared to other competitors

If you dont want the above....go elsewhere

i hav had a bill of 15000 even wen my reliance internet line was down,,,2-3 years bak ..huh

Choose Reliance at your own risk. I faced a terrible problem with reliance and came back to BSNL.I live i Chennai and here is what happened to me. I am not joking.1. The name on the bill was misspelt [my name is V.S.Gopalan and not K.S.Gopalan]2. The internet plan i got was Combo 1Mpbs and not what i had ordered.I called them about this and said it was not possible in my area. When i requested to changet he plan they said it was not possible to do so. I argued then why was i assured that i would get the Night Booster Zoom 1 plan and the guy hung up on me.3. Connection came on 21st December and got disconnected on 25th December.4. I called them the next day and they lied to me that the entire reliance network in india was down and it would take 3 days to repair it. I called them everyday for 15 days till 7th January and still the broadband did not work. So i requested to terminate the connection. I got a call the next day asking to confirm the disconnection and i finalized the termination.5. I got an email that confirmed my disconnection and that the modem and the phone equipment will be retrieved with 7-10 days.6. I got the bill for the 1st and the 2nd month and still nobody claimed the modem or the phone.7. Finally after 45 days someone came and took the equipment and did not provide an acknowledgment slip for it.8. Meanwhile i am still getting calls telling me that my bill is overdue or else they will terminate the connection.9. I got the bill for the 3rd month now and again the entire drama about bill overdue.I mean i can understand delay, but this is utterly pathetic and stupid service that you people provide. They dont even know i terminated my connection on 7th January and i am still getting calls today [15th March] that they will disconnect my broadband plan. Seriously BSNL feels so good now.I can give you my phone number just PM me.

haha...seems like i've given them a chance to correct themselves. Though i dont believe in "once a thief, always a thief", let's see what happens at my side as i'm just a 2 months old customer.
