BSNL EVDO in Bangalore

EVDo works in nagarbhavi 2nd stage area . near to ambedkar engg college. but not so fast i guess . i am using link-removed premium but still i got only 60 to 70 KBPS . so i talk to the nearest exchange and they told me there r some work going on and soon it will be done. hope i will get more speed soooooonnnnn......

hi guys....ya EVDO is her already...as many have mentioned its seems it is in testing phase..!its actually 2.4MBPs....my cousin has one.. the speed is good (considering u have the BSNL tower near by)v were able to download at 260KBPS..remind u if u r planning to run torrent on this connection....then simply forget it..!its a very bad idea....!since this EVDO doent have PUBLIC IP...u cant be seen on the torrent tracker.....and hence u cant share !other wise its as good as any wired broadband connection!

Today i went to KR Puram Customer care center. I spoke to a bsnl employee there, he told the EVDO card costs 3500/- and monthly 550/-. Is this the price of (EVDO or NIC(144kbps))I presently live in Hoodi area, near whitefield.Is EVDO presently available here, i.e near KR Puram ,or Hoodi.(5-6Km from KRPuram).i read in bsnlevdoclub blog that EVDO is available in KRPuram exchangePlease suggest me.I'm considering EVDO, though BSNL broadbad is available without hassles.As i read some post above, there seems to be a lot of problems with EVO cards.They are of some old date. Did all problems got rectified? and presently is it ok to take a EVDO?

KR puram! if the BSNL towers r around there then probably u wil get it to work and check that towers has CDMA !

Today i went to KRPuram exchange,
No one seemed to know anything about EVDO.
I asked an employee about the speed i can get near hoodi, he said, previously the speed was 144 kbps and presently it is upgraded to 256 kbps. I was astonished, he definitely doesnot know about evdo. But he said that the EVDO switch is located at ITPL.(somewhere near Whitefield. i dont know exactly)
i read at BSNL EVDO CLUB blog, that KRPURAM is upgraded to EVDO.
waiting for suggestions and information.

EDIT:
I took a new evdo Device from whitefield telephone exchange. (for deposit Rs1000, monthly 750) on friday.
They said the connection will be activatedon saturday. I tried to connect on saturday but , could not connect. So i called the BSNL office and they asked me to come again, they found that they did not configure the device properly and again configured it .
Now the device is working, but i'm unable to get good speeds.

I thought this is better that a adsl connection, but at my place i'm getting a max(DL) speed of 275 kbps. and upload only 65kbps(max).

You see this speedtest result. at 750/- per month, this is horrible.(I know, the reason is the location of my house)


I get only one bar in EVDO signal strength indicator.

I'm happy about one thing, i got the connection with in one day.
I enquired about BSNL broadband and they told me it would take atleast 3 weeks for a new connection. and i'd given my phonenumber in the Airtel's website for a new Broadband connection and waited two days for their call. then i took this evdo connection and it is working from the second day.
only upload speed is really bad about this.You see the ping. the speed is showing 260 kbps but the connection is very slow becoz of this.

Hey guys,I just came back to Bangalore, currently using dial-up. Does anyone live in R R Nagar area ? which is the best broadband connection here ? Does EVDO work in R R Nagar ? Where can I get info about this ? any reply is much appreciated. Vinay
