BSNL EVDO in Bangalore

they don even pick up this kormangla number....so is it worth taking in kumarswami layout area?here bsnl braoadband will take 5-6 months to come and 2 months for the landline due to some problem..i am helpless

I again paid Rs. 1500 to another sales person for EVDO connection, but have been waiting for past 5 weeks.. He did give me the reciept from BSNL, and says they will come within 3 days... That 3 days has not come yet!!Contact person:Rajanna - 9964752376

today i went to various areas of bangalore to get info about evdo..first i went to JAYANAGAR 5TH BLOCK-TELEPHONE EXCHANGE NAGAR---i told them if EVDO aka datacard is available in KUMARSWAMI LAYOUT and he immediately told that no place in bangalore can use EVDO if not in 3-5 km range of WHITEFIELD!he said even PADMANABHANAGAR ha NOSIGNAL!!!i was shocked to hear thisas one post in this forum says PADMANABHANAGAR is one of the prime areas supporting 2.4mbps!they told me to go to NR COLONY TELEPHONE EXCHANGE--i went there and I was told that evdo devies are exhausted and not available fr the next 1 week!!!I then met the SUBDIVISIONAL ENGINEER and asked her everything.she told me that evdo works in areas long away from WHITEFIELD and 5TH BLOCK officeb people gave wrong info....they also told new devices ll be there in 1 week..however she said..they have given connection 2 KUMARSWAMI LAYOUT and told if it doesn't work still i have 2 pay!!then i went to PADMANABHANAGAR EXCHANGE...there i asked them about all the problems and they said evdo is working in PADMANABHANAGAR...and they told me to go 2 NR COLONY..i told them i already went there and devices are not there..so they called up KORMANGLA exchange and told me to go to KORMANGLA and give them a call..the lady who answered my call told me she herself stays in PADMANABHANAGAR and gets 2 mbps..she says KUMARSWAMI LAYOUT should atleast give 1mbps being 1 km from PADMANABHANAGAR....now i am really confused on what to expect...whther it ll work at all...my 2500 rupes atleast will be at stake...but I have no other option..quite puzzled now080-25535252---this no works for kormangla exchange and they speak clean english@wealthy minds....that no you gave works but he says he gives bsnl dataone and he doesn't know about EVDO or DATACARD?are u sure u paid him money?i am confused further

I don't think the above info is accurate. I'm in BTM and got the card from there. Inside my home signals are weak and get CDMA 1x - on the roof top I get EVDO, though I have issue in this last 2 days. But that apart, I have been using it at my office in CV Raman Nagar and when attending a conference at IISc. Signals were good and I got EVDO signal all through.

Infact just for testing, on one of the conference days - when I took the cab from IISc to CV Ramannagar, started a 135 MB download and a little before I reached office, in under 45 minutes the download was complete.

BSNL is continuously upgrading the towers ... and as usual the CSC folks are probably the last ones to know about it.

I got my evdo device today. They said it'll be activated in two days. Now it's getting signal of 2bars only and sometimes 3bars in 1st floor.the green light blinks and it shows Evdo network. But after half hour it showed no signal and again in 2min turned yellow n Showed 1x network. Then within 5min it again became green and displayed EVDO network. Now it's unstable here no doubt but does it assure that evdo signal is here indeed?as a fact the tower is in the locality 1km from here..and i've got evdo signals most of the times but once it went off. Showed no signal n then wit 1bar it showed 1x. It's evdo again now...please confirm any1

i got my device but they are not activating it and...also i am finding that evdo network which i got yesterday is replaced by 1x now and i also went to padmanabhanagar ..which is 1 of the evdo supported areas..is also showing 1x network only..this is shocking news..i don't know what to say.is there something like a downgrading of towers???

after repeated calling..it's connected and although signal is poor at 1 or 2 bars...i am getting around 120 kBps max download speed now...lowest being 55 kBps..i am sure roof will ive higher speed as i saw 3-4 bars there yesterday :yahoo:

those getting 1X instead of EVDO, I suggest to reconfigure your device at the BSNL exchange,On the First day i took EVDo from Whitefield exchange, i too got only 1X signal with much lesser speeds (around 20kbps:wall::wall. Next day i again went to the exchange , they found their mistake my EVDO device configuration, they reconfigured it and its working properly since then.
