Hey Keanu bro,Post your experiance with EVDO service... in pune ?Also Post where did you get the connection from ? i mean which office / exchange to contact ? in Pune ?-pranKster.

Sorry for so much delay. I am happy With the speeds as any way they are faster than my 256 KBps Unlimited Broadband connection. I am getting speeds from 1 to 1.5 MBps in Nasik 3 bars on the software & upto 1 mbps in Pune. 2 Bars For Pune got the connection from Bsnl Telephone Exchange in Shivaji Nagar

I visited, satara road exchange opposite City pride and got the info, yes its launched and initial investment is upto 1500 (Security deposit+activation charges). Besides 200 rs rental for the EVDO unit, and 550 rs fixed rental. I think its fair enough, and i am going to subscribe for it soo. Anyone plzzz educate me if any drawbacks of EVDO. I mean range for bsnl mobile where i live is allways 3-4 bars. So is it good choice for me to go for EVDO.

ganesh but keep in mind evdo speed will vary a lot. So, it's not necessary that you will get a constant or full speed all the time. But even if it's more than healthy 50Kbps, it's ok. Moreover, upload speed will be lot less and latency high.

Evdo is not a substitute for wireline BB connection (BSNL DataOne).. hence use it for your mobile internet needs, Compare with Airtel and reliance cards.. Good luck!!:thumbsup:

Yeah till now I haven't got more than 50Kbps (and that too sometimes but wasn't stable). So, was just thinking whether 256kbps UL was better or this ? This is were the catch is, speed isn't promised, it can vary from very low to very high but fluctuate always. :redface:

Not all BSNL towers are evdo enabled. Verify whether the tower u stated has EVDO provision or find out the nearest EVDO enabled tower.
