BSNL EVDO services in Belgaum.

I was told by a BSNL official in Belgaum, that regular broadband is faster than BSNL EVDO. This is a sad state of affairs. Why pay Rs 999, on a monthly basis, apart from around Rs 4160 for the hardware, if the service is inferior to 256 kBps? I must be grateful that the official was so forthright. But BSNL must not go telling people that the speed one gets is 2Mbps.
