BSNL EVDO services stopped in Punjab??

I went today to the BSNL main office in Jalandhar to get a prepaid BSNL EVDO connection but the person at the helpdesk informed me that EVDO services have been scrapped in Punjab and that the EVDO network is not running anymore. Now knowing that this is BSNL, where often the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing can someone please tell me if this is actually true or was the helpdesk guy just misinformed.

I also just went to Chandigarh office and they tell the same to me that this has been stopped in Punjab.

It may be that BSNL Customer Care Office Senior Executive may be talking about CDMA x1, not Rev A as they may not be knowing what this Evdo Rev A. is? They are NOT WELL INFORMED and too lazy as being Sarkari baboos.

i dont think the service is stopped , EVDO prepaid SIMs are not in stock , thats wat those babus would have mentioned
