Am using modem ZXDSL 531B and have configured it to use Wi-fi
with security WPA2/WAP -PSK and using a
WPA Pre-Shared Key
WPA Group Rekey Interval: set to 0
WPA Encryption: TKIP + AES
WEP Encryption: Disabled

Am using mac filter with 1 mac address allowed (that of my Nokia 5800)

Now heres my problem.
Wifi works fine on the phone and have tested it before on a laptop.
But once pc is shutdown in affect the modem is shutdown, then next time, The nokia 5800 doesn't detect the Wifi SSID (its not hidden)
All this time the WLAN light on modem is on and glowing.

I have to manually click the "Save/Apply" on wifi configuration setting again(even though everything is checked as it should be) and voila, everything working and being detected fine again.

Used this guide to configure wifi
https://broadband.forum/bsnl-broadband/61886-wifi-configuration-bsnl-vmc-an1020/

Although i didn't delete connection just edited the PPPoE to include the settings that were required.

Searched it in the forums, couldn't find answer.

But once pc is shutdown in effect the modem is shutdown,

Presume you mean Modem lost connection to Internet ? ( modem Power On )
Open a web page in Phone and switch off computer ( desktop/laptop)
can you surf ?

Check in WAN page IDLE time option is set to 0. "Always On" box selected.
Also SAVE& REBOOT from Management menu.
You can check the screen shots for wa 3002-G4 for ZTE531B settings
see "Sticky" post wa 3002-G4 quick reference post of mine.
check Chennai link there.

My router WA3002G4 had a similar problem when I had newly bought it (from BSNL ofcourse).

The problem:
Every time the modem is switched off and on, the WiFi network would be visible for around 1min and then disappears. So, I had to login to the modem config page and then just Save/Reboot and later on, the network would be visible.

The symptom perished with I switched off the security measures (no encryption, WEP, WPA, etc)

Solution:
I got the modem replaced. Since it was new, and still under warranty, I called the BSNL broadband guy and even he noticed the problem and replaced it free of cost.

Checked your screen-shot guide
Configuration exactly the same (except level of security setting)
Once wifi is working fine, then shutting down pc and leaving modem on doesn't change anything, Wifi works fine whether PC is on or not.

@praj
You did not mention, did Wifi work fine with new modem and what is the configuration on that one., any different?

I have noticed my friend encounter this as well in my city. (bsnl provided wifi modem as well)

Praj is also right on this, with security off, wifi works fine, but that is risky in my neighborhood (open wifi)
Also the phone detects wifi for about a minute upon modem poweron before the Wifi completely goes off the detection radar, this again confirmed by Praj.

My silly take on this is (just a hunch)
The "Select SSID:" option in Wi-Fi setting page lists a drop down menu, listing the main SSID and the other one as Guest
Upon modem restart (after poweroff) i think it struggles to determine which one to make legitimately.
(this might be just silly guesstalk and i hope it is because it makes very little sense)

@DOOOMKULTUS
It happened around a year ago. I tried (almost) every permutation and combination of WiFi settings (security and non-security ones) but it did not fix the problem.

When the modem got replaced..which is also the one I'm currently using, the security enabled setting works flawlessly. I use it for internet browsing and to download stuffs for the mobiles in my house.

My new(current) modem's settings:

I also have MAC Filters enabled.

Thanks Praj for the replySetting are mostly same and those which weren't i made them same as yours, still no success. My modem might be bad.But i don't understand what exactly could be wrong with the modem as well. what sort of issue could result in it giving this problem.

Update on how i am coping with this and possibly others can too.I have turned all my security off. Wi-fi is Open. But i have made it Hidden (SSID is hidden) and given it an easy name to remember to enter manually into phone at times. Also have added the Hidden Wi-fi as Access Point in Network Destinations in the phone settings. So it works flawlessly now. Also i am using Mac filtering i have only allowed my phone's mac address to white list all machines are others are blocked. This is not a rare issue Praj as mentioned above had it , my friend also has it, its probably something to do with BSNL modem firmware i suspect.
