BSNL modem's firmware related problem

I have installed "Firmware upgrade application " from "www.motive.bsnl.co.in" which has upgraded modem's firmware. After installation i am not able to access internet it shows error-678. Can we reset its firmware setting without help fo bsnl person ??Plz help me what to do ?

Mention modem/model/make/number.
Can you access the modem menu pages in 192.168.1.1 ?

ZTE ADSL/ZXDSL 831AII/0019C6879772/D18C79K10989yes i can access modem menu pages.username and password is perfect error is "remote computer is not responding".Before installation of that application everything was perfect but after installation i got stuck.and thax for replying.

AVG detected a virus in motive script file..! Is this application safe to use.?Or is this a trap of somekind?

I had the same problem when I updated the firmware from motive.bsnl. Then I was told to go to the HQ in my district. They resetted my factory setting and my modem was working as before. I think U should do the same .

even i am having the same problem................ pls help me if anybdy can........ i get connected but my connection get dropped......
