Okay so an update to this thread: In my area BSNL has not started the process yet, but they optimistically gave me a timeline of 6 months. Yeah, it didn’t optimise [idk if it’s a word] me much.
Long story short: they issued me a new landline number from their 29xxx voip series with pan-national free calling and gave a 50% discount on my existing landline (old number) till the migration is completed. They did it as a goodwill gesture since the migration isn’t finished to the NGN switch.
