BSNL custom firmware

@luckyph we dont need to go that far, BSNL and custom firmware? 😂😂 not happening.
first they dont have a standardised ONT model supply pan india.
their bookmyfiber website is waste of time, no calls from them how many ever times we register.
this just seems to be something minimum they are rolling out.

@sloj they brought it pre configured. I was not at home to ask questions. Apparently they just plugged it in and left. As for GPON I don't remember what I used to have, I need to check some old screenshots. This is not from the same LCO and OLT. This is new fiber laid straight from BSNL's office.

When I configured it by myself with PPPOE, I was throttled to 10mbps. I couldn't add acs or tr069 because the password shown on the page was not the password they entered.

Luckily I took a backup before changing anything, restored that got my full speed back, then did my router things, dmz and all.

I have seen the speed throttle but it was back when there was no binding at all. It had something to do with VLAN being defined on ONT vs on the router, can't remember much. The passwords will be in encrypted format in the saved file, you can try to figure it out. So, from the screenshots I see 2 profiles and when you configured Internet profile in PPPoE it didn't work even though it was same MAC as before?

Are you talking about the ONT? I got a different last digit for the mac address when I created the internet profile first before the voip profile. It didn't connect. Doing it in the other order worked.

The speed throttle happened on the ont itself. I'm not bridging.

The config file has the passwords in plain text. I need to try it out tomorrow.

The password will be in plain text but some algorithm may have altered the letters or numbers but if not then nice. If you configured it like it was before you did the changes then same MAC should have been assigned for the first profile created. After you did the reset, was there a default profile? Maybe they are checking other things, who knows.

I think it's the same because the pppoe password is there in plain text.
The internet not working is still puzzling maybe they're checking something else. I got frequently disconnected from ac showing unauthorised when I tried to configure it myself.

After the reset there was a default TR069 profile with vlan 49. I think it's just the OEMs default profile. There was no acs profiles.

So, you deleted it first then created other profiles. Check what happens if you keep it and create other profiles, PPPoE first and then VoIP. Keep experimenting.
