@alap4m Yes, we are getting the porting code and it’s in CPLXXXXX format. The connection is a BSNL prepaid one and I am also wondering how can it be under CUG. Only reason what I can think of is when we took this number BSNL has given us a choice to select the last 6 digits same as the BSNL landline which we had that time. Now no one in BSNL knows how to get it sorted. There are only one or two employees in the BSNL office who don’t have any knowledge. We are totally struck. The network coverage of bsnl is pathetic which leaves the connection as useless. Thanks

Not recommending this, but just sharing the experience I had in porting a number in company name where the UPC starts with C. My father had a Reliance CDMA connection for many many years which was registered in the name of private limited company. The company later shut down, but the connection remained in the company name.
Many years later, in 2016 when Reliance CDMA shutdown, and was moved to Reliance GSM (coverage was pathetic at the time), there was no option other than to port out. Getting the UPC itself was a headache as there was no signal to send the port out message, finally after escalating the issue, received the UPC but it had the "C" prefix.

Decided to port to Idea, and went to an Idea store, they took the request but it didn't get processed as they needed the NOC. The company was shutdown so there was no way to get an NOC. The Idea store person said, he will make a namesake NOC in the letter head of the company and re initiate the port request. I think we paid some Rs 500 or so to him to do it. Anyway it went through and porting was successful.

It may not work now, but maybe try visiting an Airtel/Vi/Jio store and see if you can port to one of their postpaid premium plans, so that they are more motivated to assist you.

@abhilash_b This seems to be a technical issue, with NO straightforward way to resolve it.
As you have a personal number, it is NOT a corporate connection. You have to prove this to the BSNL Backend Porting Team.
It appears the CUG issue is causing the generation of porting code in CPLXXXXX format, which makes the number appear as Corporate at the Backend.
I recommend approaching your BSNL office to get a screenshot or printout of the connection's details. Somewhere in the details, it will be mentioned it is a Personal number.
Additionally, Personal Numbers have Mr. or Mrs. Name Surname as the account holder.
A Corporate Number will have Ms. Company Name Pvt. Ltd as the account holder.
Get this printout, and create a self-declaration that the number is a Private Account and the account holder wishes to Port Out.
It is important to get the Recipient (Jio/Airtel/Vodafone) to accept these documents as their representative will upload them into the Porting Request.
