BSNL : Terrible routing to Singapore servers

recently BSNL is routing Singapore server connections through 1. France 2. Netherlands 3. japan and finally to singapore. seriously?

this routing adds a awful lot of ping and makes the gaming experience terrible. earlier it was done directly from india to singapore. i am experiencing this issue for the last 2 days.
is anyone facing the same issue?

or is this related to undersea cable cut?

Mine is Airtel, and it is routing through Paris,Amsterdam and Tokyo as well. Avg ping is 370-400 though.What's the ping on this server when it works fine for you generally?

i get around 70ms ping on certain ips when the connection is routed directly to Singapore.
normally it is around 250ms range on bsnl 117.x range ips
. but right now it is around 400-500 ms ping even after going through lot of ips.


the irony is i am getting 360 ms ping by using a VPN. lol

Hmm, my ping on counter strike on a few SG servers is fine, so guess its probably an issue on this sv only?

I have bsnl bb and airtel wimax(distributed under a local isp). With bsnl i have over 30 hop and my latency is 360ms average and with airtel wimax. I also have over 30 hops and average latency of 125ms. But look like airtel hops are between the path of india and singapore not paris,nl.

no the server is perfectly fine. if it was a server issue then everyone would be complaining on forums. it is just that the connection from india is routed badly.

just did a tracert with a different ip 61.x range. slightly less ping but same routing.

I am wondering those who have FTTH at home can get better ping on same routing as bsnl OR FTTH would only benfit on local server since ahead of Local ISP server, chances are it have already fiber lane.

same problem with me. I used to get 80-90 ping on SG sv's of CS:GO but recently I'm getting 130ms though i haven't checked routing through tracert. I think its the problem with the routing being used by specific ISP's and not the sv problem.

I have MTNL and Siti Cable. On MTNL i'm getting 90-100 whereas on Siti I'm getting 130-140, before it was vice versa
