I am also getting 300-350 ping to Singapore servers. ISP: BSNL, Location: Nagpur, IN.
I have tried free DNS like google (pri 8.8.8.8 , alt 8.8.4.4) but of no use.
@icemanDG have u resolved ur issue?? Is Surfeasy practical for games like CS:GO?

P.S. I have verified with friends and this problem is only with BSNL, Airtel, cable internet people are enjoying 70-90 pings on the same servers where I am getting 310!!
Hi there. I will come straight to the point. When the problem started i tried to find the answers as to why am i getting such high latencies to south east asian servers. I tried contacting a lot of people ranging from bsnl customer care guys to people in broadband forums such as these. The only reasonable explanation i could come up with was that the routing (which ultimately determines the ping) is something which is controlled by the National Internet Backbone. In other words it is something which is done in the offices at the big regional centers of bsnl. It is not something which is controlled by the people working at the bsnl office in your town/city. So, the workers at bsnl office in your town wont be able to help you in this regard. There might be some upgradation work going on in your city or state. Try to get some more info on that by contacting the local bsnl office. I am tellling you this coz the same thing happened with me. When i contacted bsnl office in my city they told me that due to some upgradation work they are routing through some different servers located in other cities of india. Due to the increased load and changed routing to singapore servers you might be getting high ping. They said it will get corrected after a month or so after the work is over. And almost after a month the ping to SG servers was back to normal. So just wait. It will take its own time and it will get corrected after a few days. We as customers cant do anything about it. Neither do the people sitting at local bsnl offices. Also try posting your tracert to ip results here. It will give us an idea as to what route is actually being taken.

As far as surfeasy VPN is concerned, i didn't always use to get low pings. Some times the ping was actually in the normal range but other times the ping would be insanely high. The ip changes every time you log in to surfeasy vpn. So just try logging in and out until you find the right ip wherein you get a low ping. Also keep in mind that your browsing speed will drastically suffer if you are using any vpn service.

These high pings are definitely the gateway issues with Bsnl since few gateway having manageable 80-150 pings where a few always giving 300+ to Singapore. One option is to keep rebooting the Router till you get a gateway with low latency.

Another thing is to look for a VPN which has a server located in India. Reason being most of the vpn have routing through airtel ranging 80-90 ms to SG. Also the pings on bsnl to the local server within India is mostly fine. The end result is around 80~130 ms latency to SG and around 180ms to most of the European and uk servers instead of that crazy 300+ ms on direct bsnl routing.

So has been my experience with Ibvpn, Astrill vpn and a few other vpn with server in india.
