BSNL to meet same fate as Air India?? Read on..

OMG...!! That article blew me nuts..! critical 97% erosion in net profit within two years fell sharply to hit Rs 104 crore at the end of 2008-09 from Rs 3,009 crore in 2007-08, a 96.7% fall... all this Its inability to shine in a top-performing sector .. Gracious god all this with common man / tax payers money... My god... No better time for divestment in this PSU, better sell it to Airtel or reliance, atleast these gold diggers will keep this company afloat, more so merge MTNL & BSNL & sell it off to any indian co rather then to the vodafones etc, etc..:S

They are similarities tooAll these years Air India/Indian Airlines were having monopoly. The day private airlines came into business - these airlins started going into red.Same with BSNL- All these years they enjoyed monopoly - Now consumers have choice - So who needs BSNL??I hope Indian Railways gets some competition too!!

After the above news was discovered, I heard some top BSNL / MTNL official saying that BSNL will not be sold to any private sector company. They're not interested in selling. Rather, they were planning the merger of BSNL and MTNL. God knows what's gonna happen. :S

I cant think so. because the reduction in profit is mainly due to BSNL implemented 6 th pay commission. and huge amount paid as arrears to officials.Total employees strength is about 3.5 lacks.Lack of advertisement about their service is the main reason for the reduction in profit. No other telecom operator has BSNL like huge infrastructure and different types of services. If they improve their services they can surely come back to their glorious days
