BSNL usage problem

My upload usage is very hight as compared to download usage and also data transfer rate is very high when no programme is running hust connected. pLease help

Perform a full system scan using CA Yahoo antispy. It could be a virus.

windows vista and 7 have a network monitoring service that shows which application is using the net at any given moment.

You can use a good firewall like zonealarm and check.

Modem model/make /number.
Whether problem , started recently.
2. Download Anvir Task manager from
Windows task manager processes, Windows startup, Startup programs, Vista tweaks
and check your start up programs. You can
disable most of them, which you don't often use.

3.Use these meters to confirm transfer of data d/l and U/L
Tautology Bandwidth meter

4. Cross Check your Data usage at Bsnl usage portal

thanks for help. I dowmloaded anvir task manager and noted many strat up files. I removed some of them which were not in use as per my knowledge. now data transfer speed is reduced but still my upload is showing more than download. This problem has been started recently.
