Hello Friends,Last week i had a chance to travel to my village which is 30 KM away from Kumbakonam. On the way to my village there is no other big towns and all villages...I was wondering that many of people moved to DTH now.. moreover majority are DISH TV. It was a surprise to me that even SUN DIRECT is offering less subscription charges many are using DISH TV. Houses made with hut do have DTH where the dish is installed using just a stick on the ground.. or in the top of the roof with some support. But one thing made me to think... many of the people has covered LNB with a bucket... when i asked they said.. it protects the LNB from sun light and rain.. also they wont get scrambled signals when there is a rain it seems. Is it true? i have no idea and never thought and tried...

Bucket (container).. it is just small enough to cover the LNB just.

I will give it a try tomorrow with a small container..

The dishes may not belongs to DishTv. It may DD Direct also. You will the DD Direct dishes with the DishTV Logo printed in the market.

Yes..That was my doubt too.. because the DISH TV on the dish was not looking like original.. and it was with some other font used. But the house which i checked they had Dish TV... but yes i saw only many DISH TV dishes but may with DD+ also...

Signal may pass through plastic bucket, so many people (in India) cover LNB's with bucket. May be to protect from Rains, birds, etc

Hey.. as it was raining in chennai.. did anybody try with Bucket on LNB????

Rain stopped 5 days ago , so i didn't try this method ,..
