I have the 50mbps plan Rs1699

Youtube and streaming torrents work fine.
But streaming services like twitch.tv and Amazon's prime video buffer a lot.
On twitch I cant even watch medium, buffers every 2-3 minutes
On high it buffers every few seconds

Amazon Prime video doesnt have any video quality settings so it just streams whichever quality is best for uninterrupted viewing, it doesnt even load HD at all. Leave alone 1080pHD (there is a small mark next to timer to show HD/1080pHD, doesnt light up)

I had contacted my local excitel guy he said its twitch or amazon server issue which i feel is not.

Then i contacted twitch support, they said to not to use speedtest.net for checking speed as they have dedicated lines for that and can detect when trying a speedtest so it will always show best possible speed and not representative of actual speed.
they told me to use testmy.net
here is the result

also changed my dns to public google dns servers still no change
they said my connection getting routed too much and the isp has to change its routing to reduce latency

regarding online gaming
i play counterstrike global offensive (csgo)
i get good pings for indian servers 25-40ms
but sometimes it connects me to Asian servers on which i have like 120+ ping with losses upto 10%
which makes it almost unplayable

multiple folks have reported issues with twitch. my experience with Amazon prime video has been optimal. it takes a while to get the quality improving but eventually it is comparable to netflix. little can be done about twitch till excitel improves their connectivity with amazon cloudfront i am guessing. best scenario would be peering now that Amazon Prime video has launched in india. i mean i can see the issue sometimes on amazon.in website too.

thanks for the reply!
can i ask you the default excitel dns ip? i just replaced it with public google when i got it installed. I would like to try it with twitch,
I tried using OpenDNS but that was horrible, getting barely 7-9 mbps even on excitel servers on speedtest. google dns gives good results.

set it at automatic. installation guy did not put anything manual. and i don't know how to detect the automated dns servers. maybe ipconfig would show them.

excitel guys personally do recommend keeping it at automatic as they can only guarantee peering quality when they control it.

hi5 . me and a friend of mine who is also on 50 mbps plan are facing exact same issue. excitels has major routing issues and i doubt calling lco guy or customer care will help you fix it. a lot of people have issues with streaming and a lot of people dont. from what i know , excitel has like two routing lines like one is rcom and other is TCL line. i think people on tcl line are facing this issue? so i guess if they shift us to the other routing line it might fix the issue for us .

its getting really frustrating for me now. i was an avid twitch user and since i got excitel i barely watch twitch . i mean whats the point of having a 20mb connection and not being able to do anything. not everything can be downloaded. its 2017 . when will these isps understand that its not about the speeds anymore . saying that u are getting proper speeds wont cut it.

we have 1 excitels rep here but he is been inactive for like a month now.

and i too get packetloss but i cant really do anything about it. even big isps dont even understand what packet loss is so doubt excitels cc will know what it is.

That guy from excitel is from management or owner of excitel. Better pm him.
