My annual Jio prepaid plan is set to expire in January next year.

i am pretty sure the plans would see a price increase before that.

can I buy an annual plan right now to save money. I.e. will the annual plan I buy today go into effect once my current annual plan ends in January next year?

I am thinking of getting the 1299 330 days plan with limited 24gb data. I work from home and don’t need mobile data much.

I currently have the 1.5 gb/day Jio annual plan which I bought for ₹1699 last year. I barely use mobile data so am thinking of queing up the ₹1299 annual plan before prices go up.

are you sure I can queue up the ₹1299 330 days plan?

Queuing is possible with Jio mobile upto max 20 recharges. I am already queued till 2021 Dec. When current plan expires, the next queued plan auto activate.
1299 plan is for 336 days.
For more effective management, and if your current plan is expiring within next 75-80 days, you can first top up for 1000, 500 and 50, i.e. total 1550. You will get balance of 1304 and data vouchers of 100 GB, 50 GB and 5 GB, i.e. total 155 GB (Coupons must be activated within 90 days), then recharge 1299 using the available balance. Once current plan expires and new one gets active, use all data vouchers. You will have 179 GB total data and 336 days validity for 1550.

@pachabhut i am little confused on your calculation. You said “then recharge 1299 using the available balance”. The top up done will be of Rs 1550 and then doing another recharge will cost Rs 1299. So total 2849 but the 1.5 gb yearly plan costs Rs.2121 anyway. I am confused on the “then recharge 1299 using the available balance” part. Could you please elaborate what this “available balance” is ?

@Dhiraj What he means is recharge 1299 with the wallet ballance. There's an option under recharges to recharge for a plan using the present ballance that people top up for Jio to others talktime or ISD. After the 1299 recharge, he would still be left will 5 Rs ballance which he can further use as deemed fit.

Like this, the options show up only if you already have enough balance for the selected recharge.

Thanks @varkey and @yougotmehere and pardon me but do I need to have a JioMoney wallet for doing this ? When I do the top up , it adds the talktime and data voucher to my number but I cannot use that money again for doing another recharge.

By recharging with 1550, you get talktime bal of 1304. You can use this talktime bal for a regular plan recharge, provided that talktime bal available is more than the plan voucher value you want to recharge. You DO NOT need Jiomoney wallet.

Thank you so much guys. I never knew that the top up amount can be used to recharge a plan if the available top up balance amount is more than the recharge plan value 🙏👍🏻👍🏻
