My ISP (Internet service provider) is BSNL, I have issued my Portal ID and my password (which I was using to view my Internet usage) in an "Social Networking Websites" almost any one who have viewed that page, will know my Portal ID and password. I did't knew the importance of these things at that time, I have removed it now. Lucily no one has changed my password. Can they misuse those information if yes how?( Apart from changing my password)

change the portal password & the only major problem if someone changes the password can be that you will not be able to check your usage.even then you can complain & your portal password will be resetted in few days.

you must not give your personal information to any one such as passwords :) eventhough it was hacked by anyone, you can make it reset by your exchange. it is a time taking process. if you know any officers personally in bsnl(your city), you can contact them and make your work done in minutes :D

Your Telephone is mapped to a Equipment port in the Exchange. While authenticating the username, password and the port number are checked and gets connected only if all the above 3(username, password and port number) match. So you need not have to worry as your account is port binded and is very much secure.

port binding is not implemented at all places but only major cities.in many areas users can use other's account on their connection.

members/bmharsha/Welcome to broadbandforum.coIN the BSNL usage portal check in with your 14 digit ID and password " password"Check the option change userID password. If old( userID) password is required nothing to worry.( Mine. old dataone unable to confirm ).If this is not required you can be denied access to Internet by entering a new password( say your UserID PW is ahsrahmb123. By accessing your usage portal this can be changed )PS: BSNL advises not to change the default PW for usage portal. ( as per some postings in this forum)Of course you can change it also.

Naa... our area is not port binded. You can use any userid on any connection provided you know the password of that particular userid. :wall:

Thanks for the reply guys, I will contact the consent person and do as you have suggested.
